Tonight we are watching a masterclass by Kevin DeBruyne
Probably the best two midfielders in the world at the moment
Even though it's a hard watch how can you not enjoy watching these players play live.
It's hard to watch us lose most weeks and be in a relegation battle but it's a privilege to watch these players play against Cardiff.

I suppose it's like I said on another thread yesterday. It depends whether you are turning up to watch Cardiff, or the opposition. I would prefer us to stay in the top division, but I can understand fans preferring us to be fighting to actually win things rather than battling to avoid relegation. Obviously a lot of those who turn up are primarily there to watch the opposition as we know a lot of them will not be there next season if we are in the Championship.

If you cant enjoy watching a player of De Bruyne quality then your not a football fan .
Watching your team compete against players like that is why we pay higher ticket prices
I enjoy watching city no matter what league we are in but it makes it special to see these players imo

Hopefully, we will have many more seasons competing against fantastic teams like that, but if we sadly do get relegated, we may never see us compete against a team of Man City's quality again for a long, long time.
Sometimes when I see us play against a team who are at a completely different level like Man City tonight, I prefer to admire De Bruyne's ability and performance rather than get frustrated at Ralls being given the runaround by him. Many other teams wish they were playing Man City tonight and many fans would wish to be able to see their team playing against De Bruyne and Man City.
Games like tonight make me proud to be a City fan. The first ever City game I watched was in the old Division 4. I'm now watching us compete against the very best football has to offer. I'm watching us compete against ex Champions League winners, ex World Cup winners, we're competing against the very best. What's not to enjoy about that?

question..would you have preferred to be playing 11 Man City fringe players you had not heard of and win 2 nil
or the game you did watch and lose 2 nil.
personally i hope there is some sort of virus in the Liverpool camp when they play us and its their reserves we play..

Your missing the point we’d all be happy to beat Man City’s fringe players then lose 2-0.
But I’d rather the opportunity to go beat any Man City team on a Wednesday night in the premier league then to go and be guaranteed winning 2-0 in the championship against Rotherham.
If you don’t want the team you support to play at the highest level with the whole world watching us then why bother?
Who ever says the feeling they had after beating Leeds in the fa cup or when we beat Man City in our first premier league home game is the same they get after winning against Barnsley were either pissed at the time or there telling fibs to be different.
It’s like saying you have the same excitement after winning a £10 bet and £1000 bet.

MoodyBluebird wrote:I can fully understand both arguments in this thread but for me, the number one reason why I prefer us to play in the Prem is that it raises the profile of the club immeasurably. Yes, if you have the mare of a season that Fulham are having, you may just want to curl up and die but to remain competitive for as long as we have is commendable. And if we can by some miracle escape relegation, we will benefit from the experience and gain confidence for next year's campaign.
I mentioned the club's profile earlier. Who honestly can say they don't feel a sense of pride when they talk of their club being in the best or one of the best leagues in the world ? Personally I love it when people I have met around the world know of Cardiff City Football Club, primarily because we were in the Prem a few years ago and are there again now. And they're not necessarily big football fans, it's just that the global attraction of this league is phenomenal.
A club with our following and a city with our population should strive for progress continually and that means playing Premier League football on a regular basis. I can never see us breaking into the top 6 but see no reason why in future years we cannot emulate Wolves or even Watford.
