Leckworth junction box

Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:25 am

Lads the council are looking for more money and cameras are picking people up for stopping or looks at stop in the junction box. I just had letter for 70 quid fine from weekend.

Were you stopped in the box? :?

If so, you were (potentially) stopping the flow of traffic when you had nowhere to go...

Yellow Boxes have been around for years and their purpose, along with guidelines for their operation, would have been included in your Driving Test paraphernalia

To be fair to the Council, this is not new, was well advertised in 2015 and has been brought up as a topic on this very Forum in the past, along with the cutting across of the solid white lines of Bus Lanes

These cameras are new to this season just like the parking restrictions being placed on some roads that were not there last season? Yes agree about blocking rd especially at this junction but it is making money due to the layout plus making lots money with parking violations that was not the case last season .... :old:

people have posted warnings on here previously..
have to say though that roundabout / junction is ridiculous and needs a re think far more than yellow boxes.
despite how close our ground is to the A4232 it has to be one of the worse grounds in the country to get away from.

I went through the 1st set of light on green then the ones in front went red to green but traffic slow to move , what are you supposed to do, not go through the lights on green.

Parking is a problem in and around the CCS; particularly where people simply won't/don't want to pay to do so; but we need to consider the local residents and the inconvenience caused to them

I'm sure we would all have something to say if it was happening in our streets on a regular basis and we need to consider that stadium attendance has increased considerably this season

As for the boxes, it is very frustrating when you are trying to get somewhere, your route ahead is clear but some numpty has blocked your path ahead

We currently live in a very selfish/unthinking society and clearly some people don't care what they do or who they affect until they are picked up on it (like the OP) and then they call it 'unjust'

I agree and disagree..i hate people blocking junctions.. but that particular one is not fit for purpose for an hour after a game as traffic is not allowed to flow away from the stadium..last Sunday it was 5.30 before you could drive down Lawrenny avenue after a game that finished and hour and a half earlier..the Man City game I wasn't even out of asda carpark 70mins after reaching the car.. honestly I have nothing like these issues at most other grounds that don't have a dual carriageway within a few hundred yards..??????????

I agree mate

They are there to make money and it's down to the stupid design, they almost trap you into stopping on them.

I haven't been fined but keep people behind waiting until I'm sure I can get through, so it's causing unnecessary delays.

Empty bus lanes everywhere and cars stuck in long lines of traffic unable to get through every set of lights !!!

Sven the parking does not effect residents as no houses on the particular stretch of sloper rd I'm referring to, i Agree about boxes but in particular leckwith junction is not suitable for box junction before and after game far better to use pcso to control traffic as half of it us not used especially after game besides gives them something to do!

I was done last year on Dumfries Place.. think if you pay within 14 days, it’s half, something like that

They need to Hamburger that roundabout, so through traffic goes straight up the Ely link..

Theres not enough space between the lights for the amount of traffic before and after game ? Needs
better traffic management particularly after game

is hamburger the term for the inner through rds like the ones from the M4 to the A470 and and the A449 to m4 west at J24 ?
If so I totally agree , probably clear stadium traffic in half the time it takes now.

The way cardiff council treat football is pathetic 30,000 supporters in one tiny area with one closed road and a train with one carriage.

Rugby has around 10 carriages on one train loads of roads closed
The biggest wind up was seeing these stewards at central helping rugby supporters to find which train to get on.
