Jamie Carragher's message to Cardiff City chiefs about Neil Warnock

Cardiff City must retain manager Neil Warnock at all costs ahead of next season, according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Welsh side are locked in a battle to survive relegation from the Premier League at the moment but regardless of the end scenario, Carragher insists Warnock has to stay put for the good of the club.

Carragher believes Cardiff have done reasonably well with everything that has been thrown at them this season and has explained that especially if they go down, Warnock would be the ideal candidate to bring the club right back up from the Championship.

“I actually think Cardiff have done well and better than I thought they would have this season,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “I thought they would have been cut adrift a lot earlier.

“With the manager they have got, Neil Warnock is a master of getting out of leagues and earning promotion. He has always found it difficult in the Premier League but he’s had teams without much money to spend or a great deal of quality.

“In some ways being in the Premier League was a bonus for them. If they do go down like I think they may do, they have the perfect manager to bring them back up.”

Good to see Stan Collymore sticking up for Warnock as well. In today's Mirror, he backed Warnock following the poor decisions made by the officials on Sunday.
