TEAM NEWS:

02/04/19

NEIL WARNOCK:

"We have Sol Bamba and Callum Paterson out for the season and now we have a number of players carrying knocks."

"That was another kick in the teeth following on from numerous other kicks in the teeth and psychologically you’ve got to be strong to overcome that.

"I won’t know until I look at the faces in the dressing room on Wednesday night whether any of the players aren’t up for it.

"The pleasing is that we three or four players knocks on Sunday, but they all want to play, which I think is brilliant. It'd be easy with Man City to stop home by the fire. "

The probable Cardiff City team: Etheridge; Peltier, Manga, Morrison, Cunningham; Ralls, Camarasa, Arter; Mendez-Laing, Hoilett, Niasse.

MANCHESTER CITY:

PEP: The next games I am going to make a few changes. We cannot win the Premier League and the other tournaments just with the players who played on Saturday, a few players are going to play against Cardiff and I want the best of them

About Manchester City

Manchester City Football Club is a football club based in Manchester, England, that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), it became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894. The club's home ground is the City of Manchester Stadium in east Manchester, to which it moved in 2003, having played at Maine Road since 1923.

Manchester City entered the Football League in 1899, and won their first major honour with the FA Cup in 1904. It had its first major period of success in the late 1960s, winning the League, FA Cup and League Cup under the management of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison. After losing the 1981 FA Cup Final, the club went through a period of decline, culminating in relegation to the third tier of English football. Having regained their Premier League status in the early 2000s, Manchester City was purchased in 2008 by Abu Dhabi United Group for £210 million and received considerable financial investment.

The club won the Premier League in 2012, 2014 and, most recently in 2018, also becoming the first Premier League team to attain 100 points in a single season. Manchester City's revenue was the fifth highest of a football club in the world in the 2017–18 season at €527.7 million. In 2018, Forbes estimated the club was the fifth most valuable in the world at $2.47 billion.

I hope we rest every player has a knock and every player who was on international duty.

I would go further and play the reserves and gamble everything on Burnley and Brighton, and then again rest the whole team before Fulham and Palace!!!

They beat Schalke 7-0, anything less tonight would be half decent. I can't see us keeping them below four unfortunately. Just hope it's not a cricket score.

I am expecting the unexpected after a very strong performance against Chelsea, so I will predict: Man City 2-3 Cardiff

Arter will not play on 9 bookings and another one means he misses Burnley.
I would stick with the same side as we do look a better unit with last weeks starting 11.

He cant be suspended for reaching 10 bookings. The date for that passed last weekend. He has to play, he provides crucial energy in the middle. After today we're not playing for 10 days.

Very poor goalkeeping by Etheridge cant be beaten at your near post like that.

Could be 3-0 already

We look like we are not even trying, just walking around the pitch. No pressing, no urgency.

We look like we have given up before we have started

Bad error by Etheridge and lucky by de Bruyne but a goal

The problem there is that they have 'expectations' and this is seen as an almost inconvenient 'run of the mill' game

The empty seats all over their stadium show the complacency that has set in amongst their support...

Sadly, Pep is not of the same mind and Man City are a class ahead of anyone in this League, inc. Liverpool :(

I would guess Man City have tougher training sessions than this. No way of guessing how many they will score if they actually decide to break into a sweat.

Thinking same they just using it as a run out even if we score they'll just up a gear to score again! And we cannot put 2 passes together thats not helping

18% possession and zero shots. Painful to watch.

Don’t want to knock the lad too much because he’s been a brilliant servant to the club but Joe Ralls is so far out of his depth in this league and it shows. Also find Hoilett to be too ineffective. Yeah alright he’ll score a worldie once in ever 20 games but apart from that he seems to dribble round in circles and then pass backwards. Need to give NML a run out with his pace and power
