Horrible league. Horrible environment.

Hate it.

We should celebrate relegation back to the real world more than promotion to the phoney sewn up world of the premier league. Football as we once knew it has long gone......in another 25 years you won’t hear singing even, just the odd clap.

"football as we once knew it".big empty dilapidated stadiums.most people doing other things on a Saturday don't believe me?. Read the crowd stats for the 80s/90s people had more or less given up on football until the inception of the premier league .todays crowds are approaching a post war high.I watched city play Middlesbrough at ninian park in the mid 80s second division attendance 2564. Good old days my arse.

Will they even need fans in 25 years  I waited all my life to taste life in the BIG league, hated the 1st season, for a variety of reasons,of which colour was just one :!: and this year, whilst taking nothing but absolute pride in our own fans, who have been immense, the club finally coming together as one, there is a bitter taste in my mouth, especially after today's farce :x let's just enjoy what's left, and roar our approval,of the effort and commitment of the players, and manager, wherever we are,I will die a bluebird regardless.

Not one for conspiracy theories but at this point I’m almost certain there’s an expectation on officials to ensure the ‘bigger club’ wins

you make a very good point. and your 100% correct about the crowds .
its come at a huge cost to thousands of ordinary fans of all clubs bar about 6 though.

dreams 2019 involve winning promotion to the EPL which then starts a run of seasons where success is 17th and maybe winning a quarter of your games. even that includes throwing enough money at it to ensure that relegation brings on more often than not a financial crisis.

sorry for the negativity but im still on the floor from Sunday { possibly the lowest ive felt regarding the prospects of our club since the day i started watching }.

Put simply prior to the premier league football was a product people bought into in small numbers now they buy into in big numbers .look at this season we are taking thousands away with few complaints about ticket prices .

Yes, me too! :thumbright:

Our season won't be decided by one single game and better in the Premier League than out! :ayatollah:

To be honest, I've felt a lot worse after certain other lost games (mainly against teams around us) possibly because I didn't expect anything from the Chelsea game, so didn't factor it into our points tally

A great performance again a class team and we should be proud (if not a little disappointed at the same time) of the fight we put up!

We silenced the Chelsea support for over 80 minutes and they were worried! :ayatollah:

Super proud of the team and club this year.

Just hate what it stands for.

Re: f**k the premier league.

I can see both sides of this little debate. It's good seeing our club in the top flight playing against some of the world's biggest teams, but we know we will lose much more than we win, and our only realistic target is finishing with at least three sides beneath us. There is no hope of us challenging for league title, and most teams in a similar position to us tend to sacrifice the cup competitions in an attempt to stay in the top flight. In effect, we start the season playing for nothing more than trying to avoid relegation.

Outside of the Premier League, we have the opportunity to challenge for a league title, and certainly have far more opportunity of watching us win more games than we lose. I suppose it's all about whether you prefer watching the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc., or would rather see us winning more games and challenging for some silverware at the end of the season. Personally, I would prefer us to be in the top flight, but I can see why plenty of fans are not too bothered if we are not up there.

Exactly how I felt.

The Premier League for me is brilliant though and I enjoy watching lots of different teams play.
I really hope we stay up but I fear after Burnley’s win on the weekend we just ain’t going to do it. Lots of people on here thing it’s almost a given that we’ll bounce straight back up if we do get relegated but I don’t see it like that.

Tend to agree with you. In all my years supporting City, I've never looked forward less to a game as what I am tonight. Normally on match day, whether we're home or away, I'm thinking about the game, going to a home game and some away, or listening on the radio, because we have an even money chance of getting a result. The gulf between the top sides and the rest is now huge, and you can't see anything other than a landslide win for Man City tonight, even NW has said as much. I'll obviously be looking for the score, but I've got no desire to even go to the pub to watch it, I don't want to see us getting tanked.
