Callum Paterson to miss rest of season with injury as Neil Warnock slams Iceland managerNeil Warnock has confirmed Callum Paterson will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury and slammed Iceland for their management of Aron Gunnarsson during the international break.
Paterson requires an operation on the ankle he injured during Scotland's win over San Marino and Warnock's injury problems deepened even further after Matthew Connolly suffered a major setback.
"Callum is having an operation on Monday and should be out until pre-season," said the Cardiff manager.
"It's a big blow. On the same day [Matthew] Connolly was just coming back training as well and he dislocated his ankle.
"Contrary to what was said before the Scottish game, I never spoke to Alex [McLeish] about him not playing on the plastic pitch [in Kazakhstan]; he's had such a bad injury to his knee in the last 12 months, I think they spoke between themselves.
"But the second game [against San Marino] was a disaster for us."Neil Warnock was also unhappy with Iceland after Arron Gunnarsson returned injured, tooviewtopic.php?f=2&t=206188Warnock described the above two injuries as
"one of those things" but was incensed by Iceland playing Gunnarsson in both of their European Qualifiers against Andorra and France.

That’s awful news.
That’s Sol Bamba and now Callum Paterson out for the rest of the season, two of some of our best players.

Its a blow as he is the perfect player from the bench for us. The only positive being I think we have better in the positions he plays in as a starter.

Knew at the time it was a bad one, could see him struggling on his feet after he had received initial treatment behind the goal.
Sore one as he gives us a good option in a number of roles and has been fairly reliable this season without doing anything outstanding.

So obviously Manga in for Bamba
Paterson is a more tricky one as he breaks up the play so well (in my opinion).
Options available to us ? will we go with 1 up front - Niasse or Ken ? - Niasse for me with Ken on for the last 25 mins
Midfield - Ralls - Gunners - Murphy - Cama , Junior
Def - Pelts - Morrison - Manga - ?
sh1t or bust every game from now on - lets have some fun

Are you that confident that we only need 9 players for the Chelsea game. You've only named 9 outfield players and no goalkeeper. I think we'll want to have 11 players out there playing their hearts out to get a result against one of the best teams in the league
