Playing for a draw tactics?

Wed Feb 27, 2019 6:38 pm

Two points would have done and we got none.

One of the reasons is the way we set ourselves up at corners,

Without doubt one of weakest moments in those games is when we get a corner!!!.or long throws into the box.

Everton and Watford when they had a corner always had three defenders way outside the penalty box ready for a possible counter attack . What do we do?

We leave one defender on the half way line everyone else piles into the box and get over run time and time again on the opposition counter attack.

The only players we pick out at corners are the tallest so why are players like Ralls, Gunnerson ,Artur in the box (if not taking the corne)r. They cant shoot or create a chance for themselves so why are they not in a more defensive position to stop /slow down the counter attack?

I lose count of how many times when we get a corner that in a matter of seconds we end up conceding our own corner or goal.

We just don,t need to be so gun ho imo when we have a corner, no other team we have played this season leaves one defender outside of the box at corners in a nil nil situation.

Some might say set plays are our best chance of a goal, but do we really need to leave ourselves so exposed at the back? when dont need to win the game just dont lose it.
