LETS GET A BIT OF PERSPECTIVE

Wed Feb 27, 2019 1:41 pm

Everyone seams to be pressing the panic buttons, Yes the last two matches have not been good, but hey ho the previous two matches were great results. That's the nature of where we are are and who we are.
If we wind the clock back by 18 months anyone saying that we would be in the Premier making a good fist of staying up would prompt people sending for the guys in the white coats to take us away to a quieter place.

1. We had no right to get 2nd spot last year in the championship, (we had an average championship side which totally over-achieved)
2. We only marginally improved our squad in the Summer and we were supposed to be bottom now with relegation already confirmed.
3. We just lost our record signing without him kicking a ball.
4. We are not supposed to be out of the relegation zone.

Please will everyone get a sense of perspective and get off the backs of the Club, the Manager and the squad, they cannot carry us around and do they job as footballers. :banghead: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :old:

Agree with all that apart from the we had no right to finish 2nd last year and had an average Championship Squad.

Our squad, since relegation in 2014 has never been average IMO.

We always had a decent championship squad that with a few additions could challenge and thara exactly what happened, the position we were left in after Trollope was never a true reflection of the squads capability.

Tend to agree with this, I don't think we can be looking backwards. The perspective for me was the OTT reaction after 2 wins and the OTT reaction after 2 losses.

lets not press any panic buttons as leads to to more panic.

Leave Neil alone to do his job - just like I do mine and you do yours etc.

They all know what they want to do and are trying to go about getting the desired outcome in every game.

Just as in life - there are better people in work than you, better looking and more intelligent - and the reverse. What can achieve results is a desire to win, praise for their efforts and a never give up attitude. They have that, so lets not go about knocking it.

On the first day of the badger season , if you dont pull -

I was sat next to right idiots last night in 114, you would think we back to the Russel Slade days the way some were going on.

Enjoy the experience, the challenge, divided we fall remember

im split between your view and the OP..
certainly was not as bad as many keep saying { probably down to the mediocrity of the previous 2 years }
but not sure it was a top 6 squad either certainly not a top 2 , on paper i feel the 4 play off clubs had more quality and better individuals.

fans in general have very short memories. they are often hysterical and struggle to see the wider picture.

it was a very poor performance, no getting away from that. passes went astray, and everton didn't need to get out of second gear in order to win 3-0.

however, this is everton, not barnsley or bolton. playing in the premier league is like playing wolves last season and significantly better, every week. it's a shame to see the fans lambasting the manager and players who have given everything since they have been here, but unsurprising. plenty of managers that get teams promoted are hounded out before long. let's not fall into that trap.

Maybe the perspective is played 2 mid range sides beat them conceded 1 goal, played another 2 mid table sides 1 good 1 poor conceded 8 goals scored 1 goal..... Next 4 games wolves.wham.chelsea. Liverpool! Just a bit of perspective of our situation. :old:

The same people moaning about Warnock and our league position are the same ones who I argued with on here for being hugely negative after we lost away to derby near end of last season. You cant have football all your own way, the team are trying their beat and imo its because of our coaching team and Warnock that we are not already cut adrift which is where our investment level should render us

I think the perspective is found in Southamptons fixture list. Think we are in a good position although the last two games have been shit.
