So let's throw a real spanner in the works.

Tue Feb 26, 2019 10:48 pm

So why are most of you having a go at Warnock. Before you answer that just take some time out and consider this. He has been given f**k all by Vincent Tan to spend on anyone. I believe he has been given the smallest budget in Premier history. Well in real terms he has.

lets go a bit further. This is Tans second shot at the Premier. If we go down again, take a brave person tonight to bet against that, then thats 2 pathetic efforts under his regime. Tan is on the verge of becoming the worse Premier club owner ever. Of course I expect some will say he is the best owner we have ever had. Fair enough, depends how you look at it but is he the guy to take us forward?

if theres someone out there with more money and ambition than the current owners that are willing to throw away millions and millions on cardiff city, please please please lets have them, i am sure tan would be happy to sell

Re: So let's throw a real spanner in the works.

Yes I bet he will be.

Wasn't it Warnock that came out and said that he had to stop tan from spending so much on players,I'm sure Warnock said that a few times

Re: So let's throw a real spanner in the works.

That is possibly the worst post I have seen in a long time

Warnock HAS been backed by £60/70 million this season which is huge money for a club like ours.

This is his team, he chose the players,
He spent £4mill on a keeper who has not played.
He spent £4mill on a right back who has not played
He spent £11mill on Reid who hardly plays
He spent £6mill on Madine who has been sent off on loan
He spent £10mill on Murphy who mostly plays second fiddle to Hoilett- a free signing

He spent £3mill on Bacuna who is let's be honest not good enough for this league

Tan is easily the best owner we have ever had in all aspects.
He made a mistake over the colour of the shirts - get over it

Everbody on here knows that you hate Tan so there is no suprise in you blaming him, he could/should have given warnock more money than he did in the summer i agree, but for you to leave warnock blameless in all this is bafflling.Warnock spent £36 million in the summer and admitted he had a further £10 million that he didn't spend, we were desperate for a striker and a right back, he failed to bring in a right back but bought a left back instead and never plays him, he never signed a striker and ended up playing a midfielder there instead for me this is the main reason why we will go down. On top of that, we have the slowest back four in the premier league, (after tonight we have now conceaded 31 goals at home)we can't put two passes together and hardly ever look like scoring (no shots on target AGAIN tonight) frankly the fantastic support we have deserve better.

I hope they both go in the summer. At least we are in the shop window now for a richer buyer that sees our potential.

£60m?

Warnock has spent half the amount of our nearest. Even allowing for the surplus we are still the poor cousins in this league.

Warnock problem is he was too close to the line where he needed to bring in that quality striker. He would have had to blow his budget to get one therefore leaving us quite a few gaps to fill. It was a gamble to fill in most of the gaps instead of a striker. Unfortunately is looks like it is not going to pay off.

And yeah I don't like Tan at all. He reminds me of a smiling assassin. However do I blame him for the budget he gave Warnock, not really. I don't give a shit if he puts in a billion or a penny. I just don't like seeing Warnock getting the blame for everything considering what he has been given to work with.

Yeah like there are plenty of billionaires out there, desperate to get a piece of us :laughing6: tan is the best owner this club has had, fact, has poured money into the club (his money by the way)not only on transfers, but the day to day running costs, keeping the wolves from the door,if you can name other person/s who are just itching to throw the hundreds of millions needed,to run a successful premier league club, get them to send their cv's in,I shan't hold my breath :old: :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Ashley is far worse and its taken him like 12yrs to spend more than 16m on player for a club of ncastle size thats rediculas in these times of sky money. Even Bournemouth regularly spend more on one player. :old:

Mike Ashley has actually done a brilliant job at Newcastle. I dont know why he is hated so much.
They are one of the best run clubs on the country financially and will stay up.

Re: So let's throw a real spanner in the works.

Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:46 am

You can’t blame tan, our manager makes the signings and they aren’t good enoug. Warnock has been backed, spent poorly, can’t drop certain players and is sadly losing the plot.

Tan is still converting debt to equity, he keeps us afloat and to be honest this club is run very well these days. He’s got Choi and Dalman on board and credit where it is due it works.

Poor judgement to blame tan for this mess. This mess is down to a very poor summer transfer window and refusing to give players a run of games. He was let down by nml last apparently but he’s has t played much recently has he so what does he expect! Mans lost the plot.

I'm not having a go at Wanrock but do not blame Tan either.

Wanrock said he didn't use all his budget in the summer and what he did spent in my opinion was on the wrong players in wrong positions.

I'm January it was reported Tan wanted to spend more and it certainly looked like we were trying to get more players but they didn't want to join.

Besides I think most people would like a stronger squad but I think most people are complaining that we have played the wrong team the last two games and after 2 good results we randomly changed everything that has worked previously.

Re: So let's throw a real spanner in the works.

Wed Feb 27, 2019 8:47 am

Relegation was always likely, I’d rather be almost debt free and in a strong place to bounce back up again stronger, a bit like Burnely did before. We don’t need the drama and free falling of last time. We don’t have a young ish manager like dyche though so need someone if Neil retires, and who could blame him, whatever happens..... :bluescarf:

you think we are one 10 million pound player short..?

read the board mate..mozza , manga ,gunner , murphy , junior , bacuna all heavily criticised..not sure the criticism is deserved as they are doing their best but are just not good enough..
if you think 10 mill fixes that your living in the 90s

Reading all these posts suggests that the real spanner in the works was getting promoted.
We’d be having a decent year in the Championship, and NW has said we were promoted too early..
It’s a £200m bonus for the club.

All positive long term..this year was always gonna be a write off, but we may yet stay up.

As above he said he has 10m extra to spend. Would it be enough? I'm not sure but when is enough ever enough in football. I'd say we have been crying out for a right back and defensive midfielder though and I think the 10m along with not buying Cunningham and smithies would have got us 2 good players in those key positions.

But like I said I'm not having a go at Warnock I think he is doing his best. I don't agree they are all not good enough, I think we have enough to stay up if we play to our strengths.
