NEIL WARNOCK:

People like Sol and Morrison doing your job as leaders?

“Yes. They’re both good leaders, and Aron Gunnarsson. The three of them sort things out between them. It was good for Mozza to get 90 minutes, a difficult 90 minutes for him really. When you’ve won two on the trot, you come back in and concede five, it’s easy to criticise him.”

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock questioned the character of Victor Camarasa as he bemoaned being instructed by ‘physios from abroad’ over the midfielder’s fitness.

NEIL WARNOCK:

Bobby Reid and Lee Peltier ok?

“Yes I think so. Pelts is probably the worst one. He ate something yesterday and hopefully he doesn’t bring it back up today!”

How have you been since Watford defeat?

“How do you feel when you get battered 5-1? Not so good, but life goes on. We just have to re-group and start again. “

How are you looking ahead of tomorrow’s game?

“We’ve got a bit of a bug going round. One or two lads haven’t been in for a few days. You just don’t know with them, they can clear up overnight and it depends if they can eat stuff. Victor’s training now. I don’t really know about him yet, but he’s looking on song and back to normal. We’ve just got a few decisions to make. We’ve got two tough games with Wolves away on Saturday so I’ll be thinking about that as well with my selection because one or two lads have played a lot of games.”

NEIL WARNOCK:

Rarely suffered hefty defeats?

“Well you say that, Manchester United, Tottenham, we’ve been beaten quite a few times like that. Capitulating like we did is not very good. But it just shows the strength of the group when they keep coming back from maulings like that. I must admit it was difficult, having not had such a clear penalty not given and we could have gone in at 1-1 with the place buzzing and looking forward to the second half to having everyone’s chin on the floor, it is hard to lift them. It’s so difficult. People don’t realise what it’s like to have something like that and then it makes it worse when a referee says he’s made a mistake after the game. That doesn’t help me.”

What the Ref he say to you after the Watford game?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“He said it was a stonewall penalty. Wow. I just don’t know what to say. It’s just so disappointing. The referee was changed in midweek. We had Roger East and I saw him give three penalties which were nowhere near as bad as mine. So I suppose it’s not just who you’re playing, it’s who you get refereeing and their interpretations of the laws of the game. If you can’t get simple decisions right like that, heaven help us.“

Positives with Fulham and Southampton losing?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“You only focus on your own game. If you’d have said to me at the start of the season that in February we’ll be out of the bottom three, I know you expect Southampton will get points on Wednesday so we could end the week in the bottom three, but I can only praise the lads. We’ve had loads of kicks in the teeth but we bounce back. It was humiliating for me but it’s very disappointing (Watford).”

Everton strengths

NEIL WARNOCK:

“They’ve had 19 days without a game so I imagine they’ll be very organised. The manager works very hard on the training ground. We saw them have a very good game against Watford and they could have won on the day. I class these teams in the same sort of bracket really.”

Upcoming games winnable?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“We look at clusters of five games. We set ourselves targets of what we can get in those games. We are not quite there at the moment but we’ve got this one game left in the cluster. I think it’s not a bad shout to set yourselves targets.”

Re: BREAKING NEIL WARNOCK:

Did you watch league cup final?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“Yes I watched part of it.”

Thoughts on Kepa?

“I thought that was a question that was going to be raised! You’ve just got to leave it up to the manager. Whatever he says about the situation, there’s only those people close. It’s alright from a far making decisions. You don’t know what the young lad is thinking. I think you’ve got to be in the know how to make a judgement.”

Ever been in a situation like that?

“No I don’t think so. I don’t think anybody in the Premier League has ever seen anything like that. I don’t even think the referee knew what to do. I thought he did well (ref), I’ve criticised him a few times in the past but I thought he did well. It’s just on the day really.”

NEIL WARNOCK:

Fans left early on Friday. Surprised?

“Not really no. If they’ve got buses and that there’s not much to stay for. The ones who stayed gave the lads a bit of help but it was so disappointing in the second half so I think they were just saving their energy for Tuesday.”

Sala plane investigation

NEIL WARNOCK:

“I just leave everything other than football to other people at the club. I’m sure the club will be asked for their opinions. Mehmet (Dalman) as he has done all the way through will give a constructed view on what the club feels.”

NEIL WARNOCK:

How important is it to get Camarasa in the mix?

“He’s a very important player to us. It’s been a really big disappointment if I’m honest. I’ve never come across the situation I’ve got at the moment. We’re having physios and medical people from abroad more or less telling us what we can do with him when he’s our player. It’s very difficult, not just for me but for the medical staff as well. When you see somebody flying around and yet they’re not fit it’s because the scan shows something up, I think it’s down to the player really to know. If you saw Sol Bamba’s scan on his thigh he wouldn’t have played for the last six weeks he probably wouldn’t have played. He’s probably been our best player and he tells me ‘I’m alright gaffer’. I think that shows the make-up of certain players is stronger than others.”

Re: BREAKING NEIL WARNOCK:

NEIL WARNOCK:

As far as the club is concerned Camarasa is fit?

“We think he’s closer to fitness than what our guys think. That’s just a matter of opinion but you run the risk of , if you make him play and he breaks down, what are they going to say? I think if these last two games would have been life or death for us at the end of the season I’d have been disappointed if he hadn’t have played.”

Are his medical staff in Wales?

“Yes they’re over here. They might be based over there but they come over here and he has treatment with them as well. It’s confusing really!”

Is it down to him?

“Not really. He obviously listens to his physios, medical people and every Tom, Dick and Harry from abroad. There’s nothing we can do about that really. Probably a lot of Premier League players are like that.”

Close to return?

“I thought he was fit 10 days ago. They’ve said they didn’t want him playing for 10 days. That’s up today I think.”

Zohore’s improved lately?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“Very much so. Not just when he’s come on as a sub but in training he’s been excellent. Expectations can’t be too high on him but I think it’ll be an opportunity for him after a few months of toiling.”

Are Cardiff best when backs are against the wall?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“All along we’ve known we’ve been in a battle. It’s frustrating, certain things haven’t gone our way which could have made things easier. Some of the goals we conceded and decisions we’ve not got, it could have helped us a little bit, but it’s not been like that. But we know we’re up against it. We’re not going to get any help from anybody whatsoever and we’ve got to do it ourselves. We’ve got to close our ears. We’re going to get beat by five if we defend like we did (against Watford) but we’re still in there and are still punching above our weight and making a few clubs around us still nervous.”

Would Morrison have started if Peltier was fit?

“No he wouldn’t have. We worked on that on Friday but as soon as Pelts went down, I asked Mozza if he’d give us an hour and he ended up playing the full game.”

Silva had unfair stick?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“I think we all get unfair stick! I don’t think it’s anything for him. Every club has different expectations with fans. Fans demand a nicer style of football and the grass is not always greener. But he’s a nice young man and his staff are good. It’s a good club and they’ve got some good players. They’ll be expected to be - with the likes of Watford - going for seventh place with the players they’ve got and the expenditure. When you look at what they’ve done, it dwarfs us.”

I'm sorry Neil it is VERY easy to criticise Morrison because he's inept and out of his depth at this level, every tom dick and harry can see that, Bamba and Manga are our best CB partnership with Bamba best at captain.

As Frankie Burrows used to say that the Laws of the Game are to be applied and not interpreted. Either Hooper doesn't know the Laws of the Game or other considerations came into play. In both cases he should not be reffing at any level.

Since there's a bug going around the team and Pelts was having difficulty keeping food down, then with the changes made it looks like Warnock has been forced into them through sickness. If it's a winter vomiting type bug it saps your energy levels and could explain why Paterson and Arter didn't start and the omission of Ralls. IMHO Warnock wouldn't have made five changes for this game unless they were forced upon him, especially after the last game with it's wholesale changes.
