30,000 "fans"

Sat Feb 23, 2019 5:07 am

30,000 so called fans in the ground at kick off, how many still there at 80 minutes?
Being away from Cardiff I can't get to the games, but always find a way to watch. Over recent weeks the support has been fantastic, especially on the road, but last night was an embarrassment. I know it's tough to see your team get stuffed, but stick with them to the end for goodness sake! Show them some support in good times and the bad!

Was hugely dissapointed at how many fans just up and left.

I know some have long journeys but not the numbers that left.

I always stay to the end of every game. But must admit I left pretty much straight after bamba scored last night, couldn’t stick it anymore

You’re right, last night was an embarrassment. But the players not the fans. Warnock lost the crowd an hour before ko with the team selection after recent good results and performances, and what followed was rubbish. The players didn’t deserve to be cheered till the end, they deserved to walk off to jeers and boos in a half empty stadium. But I didn’t see it, I left at 3-0. Total crap.

The loyal fans stayed and clapped not jeered. We're in it together until the end.. Well some of us anyway..

Fans pay the money and they take the choice,in an ideal world we would have had good result and an ovation at the end but hey ho.

I got up and left when Watford scored their 5th goal.

i don't understand why people are all of a sudden outraged at fans leaving at 80 minutes or earlier.

in the championship, this happened pretty much every game i have been to when we were losing by a couple of goals, except we started with roughly half the crowd we get nowadays in the premier league.

I left early and have no problem in doing so, Its down to the individual fans what they do.

I be there Tuesday and doing my 12th away at wolves this season on Saturday so what gives you the right to tell me what I should do.

At the end of the day, the paying fans have a freedom to leave whenever they want.

Personally, I’ve never left a game early in my entire life, including last night where I sang with a few others until the final whistle. I’m there to support the team and I believe that watching hordes of fans exit the stadium with nearly half hour remaining is detrimental to the players morale and doesn’t marry up to what being a supporter is about. I’m able to reflect on such moments and it enables me to appreciate the good times.

Just my opinion of course.

No lectures please. 4-0 down with 80 mins down and you have a choice. Leave now and just get to the station in time to catch an early train home. Or stay for the last ten minutes to watch Watford take the piss and spend 30 minutes standing on Grangetown station on a Friday night in the cold. Choosing the former doesn't make you any less a loyal supporter.

Sorry who should I address the note from my mother to allow me to leave early. It takes 8-10 mins after the whistle for me to get onto the concourse and I couldn't be arsed with that last night.

I don't normally leave early, but the gaffer threw in the towel with his daft subs, so I decided to do the same.

Same here, first time I’ve ever left early. It wasn’t the score line, but the fact they were just keeping ball as if it was a training session. I watched the rest of the game on my phone then though, so rather pointless leaving early!

I was sat in 101 last night and they started leaving around the 60 minute mark, around the 2nd and 3rd goals, I stayed to the end, payed my money so got the full 90 mins, out of all the players Morrison came the closest to the Canton stand to applaud the fans at full time, NW only made the edge of the centre circle :(

Easy to make an armchair decision, when fans pay hard earned money to financialy support the club not just for one game but for years and years of support ,if the players are not bothered to show any effort, than I don’t blame fans leaving to get their long journey home on trains & buses early. It was sickening to watch,I left at 4-0 on 72 mins.

Why would you clap such a rubbish performance? There was nothing to applaud.

I started to make my way down with my 6 year old boy just as they scored the 5th, I got in at 23:30, living 50 miles away, he was fooked by the time we got in so looking back I wish I went on 60 mins also
