Its just a bad night at the office.

Well said RV. Glad not everyone is melting down.

We were supposed to be relegated with a record low pints total, so in the larger scheme of things today was just another day supporting Cardiff City. Seen a lot worse in 40 odd years than today.

Points not pints but either will work. :)

Agreed

Said on another thread Watford are light years ahead of us in the way they play football

Granted is not expect to lose 5-1 but that second goal and the manner in which it was conceded killed the game

Our position is good and it’s onto the next one

Staying up was a big ask this season the fact we are in a position to potentially do so says that by en large we have done well

Out of interest what would your pints total be in previous seasons at this stage and are we talking lager or cider?

Re: Perspective

I've been to every game this season.Ive seen little to keep the faith as you say. The lump ball style of play belongs in the past and a lot of the wins have been fortunate rather convincing

Re: Perspective

Why do Cardiff fans have to be content on mediocre.
It was a frigging shambles last night.
I'm fed up of this we shouldn't even be here bollocks, well we are so get on with it and make it a success.

Content?I've not come across anyone who's content with things as they are. But, given our particular circumstances dummy spitting by our regular blame culture snowflakes will not help.

BTW this reply is not directed at you but a general comment about people looking to scapegoat.

Good post mate.
Nothing unusual on here right now - the usual posters - a bad win and were shit and getting relegated, a good win and we’re decent and we’re staying up!

Re: Perspective

Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:43 am

Come on now RV. We have some of the most fickle fans in the UK! Let most of them go into meltdown until our next win.

it belongs with teams that are up against it..and is normally said by managers with very good squads.....about teams without very good squads who they would much prefer to have an easy ride against..
will add ,it does get said by some fans of the not very good teams who think 20k a wk players should easily be able to turn over 50k a week players just because they think it.

I would settle for mediocre, but that's not what I signed up for this season.
anyone with 2 eyes and a couple of brain cells knew we were going to struggle. Lawrenson { I know he is a tw*t } regularly calls us THE championship team...others predicted a record low points. but most just predicted bottom.

this season is a free hit at it.. and we are actually doing ok.

Re: Perspective

Sat Feb 23, 2019 11:05 am

Yes we are in better position than anyone expected but the perspective is we won last 2 games looked ok in defence but then he changes team for whatever reason and we looked a shambles! Fans not in meltdown just pissed off he did what he did, can anyone actually give a sound reason why Morrison played ? In 5 fames hes been out our performances have improved greatly Last night throws away all good work done previous 2 games and if he persists can only see one result

You're entitled to you're opinion.

For me there are plenty of reasons to keep the faith, one of which is the fact we are not even in the relegation zone and we had just won our last two games prior to last night.

A wins a win to me, fortunate or convincing, doesn't matter tbh but again each to their own.

When the season started I honestly feared the worst, I thought we were going to be cast adrift playing in front of 23-24,000 crowds most weeks so for me this season has been above and beyond my expectations.

Theeres going to be plenty of ups and downs from the euphoria down at Southampton to the dejection of last night still to come.

I made my post as I thought some of the threads on here last night were way OTT, maybe some were just in that 'frustrated' moment which I can understand but like I said, sometimes people just need some perspective.

Happy to agree to disagree though.

Personally im not content with mediocrity, but then I'm also a realist. Last night might have been a shambles but in the context of the season to date I mean come on, we are doing above and beyond expectations.

It's not as if they team and management aren't trying.

If NW plays same side and loses everton what kind perspective is there then? As you rightly say well above fans expectations so far but dont want the good work undone by poor team selections at such a vital part of season.

So last night wasn't poor team selection and if keeps same and lose again against Everton guess team selection was good? Ok my opinion and lots more on here differs from yours nothing new there. :old:

you guessed correct..
was it the team i expected..no it was not..but was it correct, it probably was.
unlike you and our manager i did not spend hours and hours analysing Watford with a coaching staff looking for where they may hurt us,or what parts of their game we could target. and therefore pick 11 players most likely to carry out the game plan .

but given the choice i think ill go with Warnock being correct, and you worcester and the brainstrust being incorrect..

btw...Everton are not the same club as Watford. they have different managers, coaches, tactics, players, weaknesses and strengths. it really is not groundhog day with the same game being played over and over.

losing the next game even with the same 11 bares no relation to the last as some of those players would be given different tasks within the system

anyway, does this lose 2 in a row = picked the wrong team apply to all managers or just ours...its a new one on me...

I think the manner of the defeat is what hurt. We made made them look like Real Madrid. I m a big fan of keeping the faith but it's becoming tedious watching us come out looking scared to death of the opposition, we did the same against bloody Huddesfield, and were outplayed. We need to show the fans more confidemce and stop this backing off all the time. Get up the pitch more and put them under pressure and use the wonderful crowd as an advantage. We managed to throw a brilliant crowd atmosphere away . More of a positive attitude from the team, get at um more. Not into slagging selection orplayers off but come on ,let's have more of a go at home.

I agree with this and I’d like to see us be a bit more offensive and positive at home.
However, that’s not Warnocks tactics I’m afraid especially with the squad he’s got and the lack of quality we have.

every single time we have tried to open up this season we have conceded almost imediately and more often than not got shredded..its there to see.
