The Sala Cup Match

Driving to work yesterday. I heard a well respected France football journalist talking on the radio saying that Nantes and Cardiff City should play a match every season or every other season against each other for the Sala cup.
Alternating between home and away.Even if it had to become a pre season “cup” match. It would mean more to both sets of fans and drawn lots more interest than the mundane pre season garabage.

Yeah I suggested that ages ago , although that was before Nantes started having a go at my Club.
Mind you, there seems precious little interest in the football any more, so maybe we could just play Nantes every week instead of the Premiershio.

No you didn’t. You even said in another thread you wanted to wait for the dust to settle before suggesting it. I on the other hand did. But seems to have very little interest so a complete non starter I think.

I think the Sala Cup should be a pre season tournament for Celtic clubs. Nantes is in Britanny which is Celtic. Cardiff and Nantes host it every other year. Each year 2 other Celtic clubs are invited to participate. Other Cletic clubs include Celta Vigo, Deportivo, Celtic, Swansea City, Shamrock Rovers etc. Maybe also invite an Argentinian Club occasionally.

Ummm if the club go down the route of a pre-season friendly/cup/charity match I’d rather just keep it as a 1 match annually home/away/home etc between us and Nantes with the winnner taking the cup and monies donated to a named charity.... none of this add teams who it hasn’t impacted crap....
