" A word from a fellow football fan "

Good afternoon all,

I sent a message through Annis last week about your situation with Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson but wanted to make one post on here that would allow me to reach out to you all.

Since the news broke of this awful event, it has made many re-evaluate their lives. When I first heard the plane had gone missing, it made me aware of Emiliano and the fact that he had just realised a dream of playing in the best league in the world. Cardiff City are premier league, and worthy of it too as because no team gets there without hard work and determination. Mr Sala's face on his signing day spoke so many words, and it is heartbreaking to see the current situation. Ive checked this forum daily for the past 2 weeks to keep on top of events

As a Luton fan, I thought id seen the worst with our plight over recent years but its not. I remember the Brazilian team Chapecoense who lost almost their whole team and structure in that awful plane crash but the recent happenings for you guys have brought it a lot closer to home. I actually feel devastated as a football fan, not a Luton fan, but as a football fan which we all are.

The strength, unity and love you guys have shown for both of these gentlemen is something that I don't think ill ever forget. That beautiful banner unveiled as a tribute to Emiliano speaks volumes of you, as people, as a city and as a football club. I would happily stand shoulder to shoulder with any of you guys at a game, because rivalry goes out the window with such events. I was saddened to see the Swansea fans acting the way they did.

Lastly, try not to let the stories of Nantes wanting paying affect your relationship with their fans. Boardroom talk belongs there, and there are people employed by the clubs to take care of this. However, the Nantes fans are genuinely as upset as you guys and you should keep that bond going. Football is football, but life and friendship/respect will forever play a huge part in this beautiful game and its up to you guys to keep up what you are doing.

Keep the name of Sala alive in that beautiful stadium of yours and also in the hearts of all the people who support your club. I hope that you stay up, and are not punished in anyway for late payments etc.

I wish you all happier times in the future.

Lee

Thanks Lee for your very kind words.

You also make a very valid point about the Nantes fans and the financial "dispute". It has nothing to do with them or us and should be left in the boardroom. :bluebird:

Top man Lee, felt a bit emotional reading that mate. Thank you. Great to see most of the football brotherhood has moved on since the day's of petty rivalry. Good luck to all you Hatters. And thanks for one of my all time favourite players by the way. Adrian Alston.
