Time to vote for your January Player of the Month
The poll will run for 24 hours.
HARRY ARTER GOT MY VOTE
This vote covers the league fixtures against Tottenham, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Arsenal. It also includes Gillingham away in the FA Cup/
Victor Camarasa was December’s winner.
Below are the players with the most MOTM votes during January, along with how many MOTM polls they won over the month.
Just vote for your January Player of the Month
Harry Arter - 56 votes (2 MOTM)
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing - 35 votes (0 MOTM)
Bobby Decordova-Reid - 34 votes (1 MOTM)
Bruno Manga - 28 votes (0 MOTM)
Aron Gunnarsson - 25 votes (0 MOTM)

Harry for me, work rate every game he plays is second to none. How come you even considers putting gunarson as a vote is beyond me. He loses the ball every time he gets it

Agreed on Arter.
As it’s been I pointed out and as I wrote on my OP, the choices are for the top five highest scorers in the MOTM polls over January.

Voted Bruno, as he has been consistent over that time and deserves a little recognition

Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:41 am

Has to be Harry with 2 motm, cant think what BD-R did in January that was special
Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:51 pm

think people have the bournemouth game in mind when voting for Reid.

I think Reid’s single performance to score 2 goals in our only win since December CAN be good enough to be a valid choice. Say what you want, the other players may have been consistent, but we managed only a single point and that was against Huddersfield AT HOME - a game Reid didn’t play but every other option did. How can you criticise Reid as an option when clearly the Bournemouth game IS included in this player of the month poll, in my eyes that game and Arsenal are the only performances our team can be proud of and again - both games Reid started. It’s senseless to say Reid doesn’t deserve a vote. Did a lot more than the others did when you consider the results and our performances

Bamba and Etheridge aren’t in the poll.
A reminder we only kept one clean sheet in January, that was against Huddersfield.
Bournemouth match was in February - so Reid’s performance in that match shouldn’t count towards this poll.

Well in that case, Reid really made us a threat against Arsenal.
Manga gave 2 penaltys away
Gunnarson was consistent but never was above a 6 in any game in Janurary.
Arter I would say the same as for gunnarsson (bare in mind they are defensive midfielders and we conceded way too many goals THROUGH the middle because of our midfield not closing down and we conceded alot of shots on the edge of our area because of this
Mendez-Laing scored a last minute goal but we seriously can't count that as a player of the month.
Atleast Reid has played well everytime he's played and him along with Niasse is the main reason our survival in this league looks more likely than it did last month.
So yeah, Reid.

Bamba for me...

Bamba was our best player should have been inscluded in the vote - Reid started some games on the bench in January didn't he and didn't score the 2 goals until Feb?

I can’t change the rules, been like this ever since these polls were started.
Reid snuck into this vote due to getting a lot of votes for Arsenal.

A bit of controversy it seems, but Bobby Reid wins.

that's insane.
he either got hooked off or came on as a late sub in all those January games.
apart from the only game we picked up a point in where he did not play at all.

A lot of people seem to be judging this on the last game we played & not the whole month of January. Shows the attention span of the twatter, fleecebook etc. generation of users.
Maybe time for a change to a plain vote count total from the month to crown the winner

Agree, poll is a farce... might as well just include every first team player is every monthly poll to ensure it's fair...

Never been a problem with how the poll is structured in the past. It will remain like this for the remaining months of this season.
At the end of the season, we will take a vote on how best to move forward with the polls on Man of the Match, Player of the Month and Player of the Season.
This result would have been totally different if people ready the OP - and I’m not going to change the rules just because some people don’t like the result.

Your correct you only have to read Savigmas post to see how much the Bournemouth game effected the vote.
Arter won by some distance
