Long term and regular reader on here, used to post under the name “Billy Ayre” but got hounded out, despite it being a tribute to the great man, rather than pretending to be him.
Anyway, despite everything that’s gone on at the club over the past 6/7 years (since what happened, I haven’t attended a game) I haven’t felt the need to post until the last few weeks, with tonight being the catalyst to sign up.
As mentioned, despite not attending for many years, the Sala tragedy has hit myself and many others just as hard as those who still go and tonight’s news about Matty Brazier has hit home even more, having seen him play on many occasions and thrill many of us with his attacking full back play and wand of a left foot.
Having attended my 1st game at the back end of the ‘96/‘97 season (loss to Northampton in play off semi) Matt was one of the 1st players I remember in th3 following few seasons, along with the likes of Danny Hill, Jason Fowler, Johnny Hallworth, Jeff Eckhardt etc.
Obviously read about his illness prior to Xmas but never realised it was this bad, so just like to say thoughts are with Matt and his family at this time but now there’s another bluebird to represent us in the sky. Just imagine sala thriving on Matt’s pinpoint left footed delivery and running to the dugout to celebrate with Eddie May. RIP Matt #singasongforbrazier
