They are a good pairing.

Unfortunately Warnock obviously rates Morrison very highly and as his captain he will come straight back into the team.

Probably putting Manga back at right back

My preferred partnership tbh. Think Morrison has struggled to step up to the prem this season, but Warnock rates him a lot higher than I do so I think he'll be straight back in the starting 11 when he's fit. Might even see a back 3 and wing backs being played.

I think as a pairing they have struggled previously but yesterday both were excellent.

Totally agree about Morrison, he just hasn't been with it this season and its cost goal (for and against).

Warnock seems to love him so 3 at the back with wing backs is a good shout. Warnock loves fast players it could work.

I agree with you on both counts.

Don't forget that when they played together when Morrison was out over Christmas 2017 we lost all four games and at Newcastle the other week they were both all over the place.

Yesterday however they were both excellent especially Bamba.

Manga struggles against big powerful forwards. That’s why he did well yesterday. Bournemouth had a small side out yesterday

Morrison is our best cb imo...

Manga has been nothing short of solid for us at RB so shifting him to CB his natural position will only make him better because he really got it all.

I rate all 3 equally as they all are good in different ways.

Its too easy to blame Morrison for certain goals, or Bamba for losing his man, or Manga for all the penalties that have been conceded. The nature of their role as a defender is that when a goal gets scored, it'll mostly be a defender that will be the last man.

If any of them prevented all shots being goals, they would be at a far bigger club than ours

Morrison a great championship defender but unfortunately not so in the step up to the premier league.

For me Bamba is the best of the 3 with the other 2 being about equal...

We wouldn't have got promoted without Morrison but his lack of pace get's exposed at this level.

Manga and Bamba both have enough pace and lately it appears that Bamba is much more willing to challenge and win the ball knowing that Manga has the pace behind him to cover anything if he fails.

The other, possibly more, important point is that both have pretty good distribution for CBs. It's no coincidence that the last couple of games have seen balls being played forward to Niasse (and Zohore when he came on) and actually reached him allowing the whole team to move up and not be put under constant pressure.

I wouldn't have a problem with playing the 3 of them in a back 3 but I think it would be very difficult for Morrison to get back into a centre back pairing in front of these two now unless they really drop a clanger over the next few weeks.
