Joe Ralls

Sat Feb 02, 2019 8:21 pm

I've slated him all season, he's been poor.
To be fair today though, he played really well.

He was full of energy, picked the right passes and kept it simple all game.

Two good games on the trot.

Well done Joe.

Re: Joe Ralls

“He kept it simple”. That’s what he needs to carry on doing. Needs to relax when on the ball and wait for the right pass. To often this season he’s given the ball away needlessly. His performance tonight was commendable.

I’ve not been his biggest fan either mate but he was good today. Kept it simple and stuck to what he does well.

Yeah he did ok, and I too have slated him, and credit to him today. He had a chance though to play a ball through to Niasse and came back I was gutted but he did well today.

He was good but has to drop Saturday for Arter. We need our best players on the pitch.
It's going to be harsh but I think it needs to be done

He was much improved at Arsenal and arguably our best player, has really stepped up his game.

Agree with all of that.

Impossible to leave out Arter, in my opinion. Arter has to come in for Southampton, as good as Ralls was today and I know it’s tough on him.

Re: Joe Ralls

Ralls has played well these last 2 games and to be fair has upped his game. Arter playing average will put in performances like this though. Camarasa will have to come in if fit as he is the set piece guy especially if we go with Murphy rather than hoilett. Unless our new signing comes in at right back. I gather he has a handy free kick in his his locker

Bacuna is a midfielder . Peltier will play right back

Absolutely. Have no doubt about that. Figured it would be unlikely just thinking aloud

Re: Joe Ralls

I have no issue with Ralls and never have. He has been a good servant to the club and gives his all every game. No doubt having a striker upfront who can take the ball into feet will help.

I bet he’d look awesome in that Bournemouth team.

Works his balls off, always makes himself available.

Massively underrated.

Lost confidence over the Man City and Spurs dramas.

Every manager has trusted him.

Far better overall player than he’s given credit for.

Still fairly toung.

He’ll play next Saturday and hardly surprising he’s playing better now he’s got options to pass to. Players like him and Camerasa must be pulling their hair out with no one looking to take the ball off them.
Massive difference with Reid playing regularly

That’s a good post Tim. I thought he was outstanding today but I can’t see him leaving either arter or Camarasa out of both are 100%

No and I think that's right but then the way people react to. Ralls playing it sometimes poor.

For me against Southampton if fit Arter comes in for Ralls and Camarasa for Murphy.

It’s quite refreshing to have the headache of choice of players in midfield

He can play Right back and Left back as well.

Ralls deserves to stay in. Wake up call for Arter on the bench for me

Does Arter need a wake up call? Pretty much the best player for us in every game I've seen.

Great headache for neil, nice to have a bit of depth :occasion5:

Agreed, thought he was brilliant today. Was first to almost every second ball, kept it simple and played some nice forward passes to players in space for a change instead of the safe sideways passing he can sometimes be guilty of. 2 very good games in a row now. :bluescarf:

Eh? Arter needs a wake-up call, for what exactly? Arter has been very consistent this season. He gives us that bite that Gunnarsson doesn't have.

Ralls had a very good game today, was everywhere and won many tackles :thumbright: :bluebird:

Nice to have options Liam.

Not sure if Camerasa will be fit.

Artur for Gunnar has to be considered. Gunnar did well when he first came back, but his passing was very poor last night.

He’s also done a LOT of work in the last few months, maybe needs a rest.

Best he,s been this season, agreed kept things simple and slowed his game down no headless chicken syndrom today.

Re: Joe Ralls

Could always play Arter and Ralls and put Gunners on bench I thought Gunners got caught out of position and for pace, a few times today. Although in fairness the team played really well.
