' The atmosphere today '

Sat Feb 02, 2019 8:24 am

Today feels very similar to the Leicester City home fixture which was also played in the wake of tragedy.

Our fans were a credit that day and refrained from singing any negative songs, instead focussing all efforts on pro Cardiff City chants. Does anyone else think such sentiment and thoughtfulness should be replicated at today’s game - including no booing Clyne - in front of Emiliano’s family who have been invited as guests. :bluebird:

Yes, I agree. Back the Cardiff eleven 100% regardless of what happens.

Were his family there today, then?

An so he should.

Not booing opposition players wouldn’t be a mark of respect to anybody.

I love situations like this, I have no real issue with him going to them over us, but still bood him like mad.

Wasn't even that great, that moment Murphy paced passed him. He's no Bacuna.

If we got Clyne we wouldn't have got Niasse and with what happened to Sala it turns out Clyne did us a favour.

At least we have Bacuna as a perm transfer. Thought he did well when he came on as well.

Totally agree with our transfers he did do us a favour in the long run, as for his tackle on Murphy, from where I was in 201 it looked like he was the last man and Murphy was through on goal which should have been red not yellow

Lets be honest Clyne is no Lee Peltier

Clyne getting boo'd is nothing to do with it. I personally love giving players stick, it makes the game more exciting. The tributes were spot on.

what negative songs have there been this year? i've been to games when i can and most fans know the score regarding spending, and have been fully behind the team.

i resent the idea that some have, namely that we need to be told not behave poorly when there is some sort of disaster, as if somehow they expect us to.

By negative, I was referring to songs such as the anti English ones (Bournemouth fans were very respectful) and songs involving Swansea fans being touched by their Fathers at the age of ten, which didn’t seem appropriate in the circumstances.

Nowhere have I told anyone they need to behave and furthermore to that I’d just like to add our fans were a credit to the club yesterday, which is exactly what I was expecting.

Hopefully this has helped clear up any misunderstanding and the resentment feeling you currently harbour can be stood down.

I read somewhere that members of Sala’s family had been invited as guests. If this was the case, I’m sure they appreciated the gesture of reflection, including the Sala song at the end which you’ve worded very nicely on a separate post.

Awesome yesterday. All 4 stands.

Didn't hear the Bournemouth fans til about 40mins when they started singing "shall we sing a song for you" surely taking the piss. It was relentless!

I'm pretty sure I heard that jack song and in the Swansea slums. Which I don't understand cause we ain't playing them. You've got me singing the blues is good though.

Heard the Bournemouth fans sing the regular sheep shagger song that the English love, also heard our fans nearest them signing its coming home

Never really understood the anti-England songs as many of our team are English and must annoy them a bit. It always seemed to me that the opposition would score whenever we started singing anti English songs. On the other hand if they start singing 'God Save the Queen' then what I just said all goes out the window!
