Transfers / loans from teams around us

Lazar Markovic [Liverpool - Fulham] Free
Michy Batshuayi [Chelsea - Crystal Palace] Loan
Havard Nordtveit [Hoffenheim - Fulham] Loan
Peter Crouch [Stoke - Burnley] Undisclosed
Leandro Bacuna [Reading - Cardiff] £4m
Miguel Almiron [Atlanta - Newcastle] £20m
Antonio Barreca [Monaco - Newcastle] Loan

Seems like Fulham are doing something about their form. I dont know anything about the 2 Newcastle players, but that is quite a big chunk of money for them. Interesting times ahead

Crouch was free, part of Sam Vokes player plus cash to stoke, nothing undisclosed about it

As for Newcastle’s signings the lad from Atlanta United looks a decent buy, however it’s one thing doing it in the MLS and even harder to do it in the PL

For some reason I get the impression that we are unable to convince players to join us. We don't seem to be a that much of an attractive club (being down at the bottom aside)

The only signings that impress me for those around us are Batshuayi and Almiron.

We wouldn’t have stood a chance of getting either. Batshuayi gets to stay in London and Newcastle are still a huge club, which would have helped with Almiron.

The others could do alright, but jury still out - you could say the same about us and Bacuna admittedly.

Just shows the jan window as lost its appeal due to financial constraints with clubs, The overall spend lowest since around 2012?? :old:

Looking at the fees though everything is increased in January as clubs don’t want to lose their players, case and point us being asked to pay 3x our bid for a Belgian based striker.

It was mentioned last night on SSN, not sure if it was Sam or Alan, but clubs are not going to go in full whack and pay over the odds for the names in January, not when the current market dictates 80, 90 or 100m+ transfer fees which also has a knock on effect throughout the transfer market, they’d rather do that kind of business in the summer

They were saying on radio5 - it seems PL teams no longer do any business in Jan - unless essential.
I guess you only need to spend if your competitors seemingly buy better players.
Time for Ken to pull his finger out and put in a few performances. Between him, Reid, Patters and Niasse Im hoping they can start finding the net.

When did Fulham sign Markovic? Their Nordtveit deal wasn’t announced until gone 10pm and I thought that was the only late signing Sky Sports News announced for Fulham last night?
