Is now a free agent after Derby release him

I like Joe. But he was deemed not good enough for derby. Bacuna has been criticised by some but he has been a regular starter. I don't think Joe is the answer now unless it's to take the place of damour who also doesn't play much.

We can't sign free agents as we already have enough eligible players to fill our squad

If he's not good enough for Derby County in the championship he's not good enough for us in the premier league. Unfortunately his legs went 2 years ago.

Not for us.

He probably has something lined up but missed the deadline. Best for both parties to release him.

Can free agents be signed up outside of the transfer window as they're not attached to a club?

Something that I should know but I cant think straight this morning

Yes they can, looking at the rules too they can also be added to the 25 man squad before it is resubmitted, after the list has been submitted then the club have to seek permission to make a change which has to be a valid reason ie exceptional circumstances such as long term injury

Put simply...NO! ;) :ayatollah:

Ledley a free agent

Former Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley is again without a club after leaving Derby County by mutual consent.

The Wales international now wants to find a new club.

“I have never been the kind of person who can sit and watch football and not be playing play week in, week out.

“I made the decision to terminate my contract with the club prior to the transfer window closing to give myself the opportunity to move on somewhere in the world of football and continue my career.”

I would take him on a low wage but think he will end up in America for the rest of his career

Not a starter but decent backup if it was possible.

Ledley ffs! Bring back bothroyd and gavin rae while you’re at it. Why do our fans always want to bring back past players? Bring back rambo from Juve will be next

Some of our fans have a weird obsession with ex players.

To be fair. Rambo would be one player I WOULD like back. Still a top class player and a top guy.

Perhaps it saves them having to think! ;) :laughing6:

Joe Ledley could do a decent job for a lower league club but his top end days are behind him (have been for a couple of years now) and he needs to go wherever the money is; possibly the USA or maybe even one of the Asian or Middle Eastern sides (China highly unlikely)
