What is it with the current defeatist attitudes amongst the fans on this forum?
Why are we being written off in January?
NW has stated on numerous occasions the strikers he’s looked at are not better than what he currently has..... we don’t have the funds to go and buy a quality 15+ goals a season striker, most of them demand big fees and big wages and clubs like the top 6 can afford them, we can’t.
He’s also stated that the club are working on a couple of deals today before the deadline

Because to be told we cannot find better than Paterson is frightening! I understand we may not have time but to be honest the striker situation should have been sorted in summer but we got left well short all over the park.
We need someone with Niasse really but if we can get the 2 defensive players it will hopefully ensure we don’t concede as many; who is going to score though, still remains a problem. There is no getting around the fact we don’t have anyone that can convert chances to goals.

Its not defeatist just realistic. We have been dealt an unbelievable hand of misfortune in the last two weeks. Its not the clubs fault. But realistically the team are not scoring goals and have generally been very poor since the Leicester game. We won't recruit anyone tomorrow and I think we'll lose again on Saturday. Realism will smack a lot of fans between the eyes then. We are going to be relegated. Its a shame because we did have a fighting chance before Christmas. Chin up though, hopefully a good nucleus of the team can be kept for a decent go in the Championship next year.

Totally agree, thankfully the players have more fight in them than some of our fans

We do though, we have Niasse and Zohore and Ward coming back to fitness not to mention Reid.
Yes ideally we would get another striker and Warnock wanted one but at the moment the club don't know the financial issues from the Sala deal yet and as he said he took a while to find the right player, we cant just go chucking money about and hoping.

Patterson shooting is abysmal last night ok in the air but twice bobby reid was through and patters chose to shoot aimlessly but niasse and reid looked really promising and with murphy in for patters up front we will bw a threat, patters will probably be in midfield sat without arter and maybe camarassa out, we just get the front line looking a lot better and the midfield goes tits up .

Made some great flick ons, but took wrong options a number of times, during the second half. Roll on February, this month has been a nightmare, on the pitch and off.

Leicester won the Premier League when they were expected to be in a relegation battle.
Did they spend millions? no, in fact it makes you laugh to think their rivals had probably spent more than their squad was worth on one player.
Did they have a fantastic team spirit? obviously yes.
Over the past week the fans have shown strong spirits, in the circumstances the team did really well yesterday, i think the players will have a strong team spirit and want do it for Sala, lets encourage them and keep the faith.

Exactly..
Plenty of points to play for... good job our players have a better attitude .
It’s a tough battle, but a battle that can be won.

We've got 19 points with 14 games to go. 42 points to play for. If we average a point a game, that will give us 33. None of us know how many points we need to stay up, but we need a good run soon.

So 4 points adrift after tonight. Bournemouth smashed Chelsea and play us next. Fortune has turned against us in every single way. We may scrap a couple more wins but we are absolute relegation certainties. There will be no signings tomorrow. Save the money and prepare for the Championship.

Zahore has gone to the dogs, ward isn’t cut out for this level, we can’t attract players, we look desperately short now, aside from Huddersfield, everyone seems to be strengthening or strengthened.
It says something when sky sports news haven’t mentioned Cardiff for hours. So there isn’t reason to be cheerful, we’ve signed a player who was heading for league 1 with reading, and we can’t get better. Our scouting network needs a massive overhaul as it is completely out of its depth. Warnock has shown this year why he isn’t a premiership manager. Brilliant in the championship, but his dithering in the summer crippled us, the winter was just tragic but we shouldn’t have needed to be this reliant on winter. This window should have been to add a player not be desperate for all sorts of options.
