MY VIEW:TONIGHT THE FOOTBALL SEEMED SECONDARY & WHAT WAS ON

Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:34 pm

MY VIEW/OPINION: TONIGHT THE FOOTBALL SEEMED SECONDARY & WHAT WAS ON CARDIFF FANS MINDS WAS EMILIANO SALA  :bluebird:

Cardiff Banner away at Arsenal tonight :bluebird: :bluebird:
"We never watched you play, we never seen you score, but Emiliano our beautiful bluebird we will love you forever more."

There was Huge applause and noise from the Cardiff City fans as their players headed towards the corner of the Emirates for their final warm ups. Emiliano Sala’s name being sung and almost every fan wearing a daffodil or something in yellow as a tribute :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Before kick-off

Both Sol Bamba and Mesut Ozil made their way to the centre circle to leave daffodils :bluebird:

Cardiff fans held up yellow cards, and a Sala banner was unfurled :bluebird:

CARDIFF GAVE A VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE & MATCHED ARSENAL FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE GAME, A PENALTY FOR ARSENAL SENT THEM ON THEIR WAY TO A 6TH HOME WIN IN A ROW.

ARSENAL 2 CARDIFF CITY 1
H/T 0-0
Crowd 59,993
Away Support 2,100 (Cardiff fans) :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Etheridge; Peltier, Manga, Bamba (capt.), Bennett; Gunnarsson, Arter, Ralls; Reid, Paterson, Niasse.

Subs: Smithies, Zohore, Cunningham, Mendez-Laing, Harris, Healey, Hoilett.

Cardiff had the best of the first 25mins and thought they should of had a penalty when Oumar Niasse was brought down, but ref said No.

Bobby Reid was everywhere tonight and pressed and pressed at the Arsenal defence :bluebird:

Arsenal called for 2 pens during this half, but both waived away by the ref.

Arsenal finished the first-half in the Cardiff half.

Over all though Cardiff matched Arsenal all the way :bluebird:

H/T 0-0 :bluebird:

After Cardiff had played so well in the 65th min
Manga tripped Kolasinac after a reverse ball from Iwobi. Have to say, it looked a pen and bang 1-0 Arsenal

Mendez-lang came on for Bobby Reid

Zohore came on for Niasse

83rd min, A well taken goal from the Lacazette, who steamrd his way through the Cardiff defence from the touchline before drilling home into the far corner. Etheridge got a boot to it, but stood no chance 2-0

Ramsey nearly scored towards the end.

Mendez-Laing scored in the 83rd min :bluebird: :bluebird:

Arsenal gained the 3pts, against a brave Cardiff City team.

F/T 2-1

Fulham and Newcastle both won tonight

The amount of shots/headers deflected off target tonight was a bit unlucky.

Teams pretty even otherwise. Now NML scores as I type this!

Hopefully saving that bit of luck for Saturday. Hope to see Niasse and Reid up there together again.

Newcastle still playing but results really haven't helped us. Add to that Burnley beating Manu

Burnley also won, it was a better performance but same result, with every other result going again'st us there is now a big gap between us and safety and to be honest i think we are now down.

Every player battled tonight unfortunate pen

Best formation to date by a mile

Ried didn't stop he went for everything

Niasse seems a little rusty still

Oh yes still playing Newcastle

we had a couple of chances early doors, but fluffed them. you have to take the chances you get against a team at that level.

they had proven, clinical strikers, we didn't.

if newcastle win unexpectedly, then it tops off a poor couple of weeks for us.
