All this about Neil’s mood and demeanour in yesterday’s press conference is baffling me.
People saying he should possibly walk away now, and even posts naming a replacement manager already ffs
What were people expecting him to say or the mood he was going to say it in ?
Of course he was going to have a sombre attitude. He’s facing the press after a disaster for the first time.
Yes he wore his heart on his sleeve and said some things that question his mood. But that’s our Neil Warnock he’s always done this.
No he didn’t give the answers a lot of people want about transfers. Because as he admitted in the current circumstances the club has taken that from him, and rightly so, as that enables him to pull the players together in the time they will need him the most. We have to trust Dalman and Choo here, of whom are doing wonders anyway during all of this, taking that pressure off of Warnock.
Were people really thinking he would come out in the first press conference all smiles and talking positively and upbeat and not expecting him to address the obvious onslaught of questions about the situation that he did.
I just don’t get it - as supporters of this club and of Neil Warnock we should be getting behind them and encouraging them in this time of need, and giving them something to fight for, not questioning what he is saying and reading into every comment that our heart on his sleeve Neil wears.

That conference was exactly how I expected it.
It was never going to be a normal humorous warnock conference that was obvious.
Warnock is a strong experienced guy who's dealt with crap in his own personal life he won't walk away from the job he'll get it out til end of season as he's always said.
One positive everyone seems to have ignored is he stated he needs football back to get back to some sort of normality.

It was more the point of what he said that has people worried, just came across like his head or heart wasn’t in the game anymore.
Not once have I said anything about him stepping down either, just think he’s going through the motions when he doesn’t want to do so

I thought he was excellent in the press conference. Not sure why some people expected.
I thought the way some people wanted to write him off because of the way he handled the situation as disgraceful.
I have question many things about Wanrock on how he managed but to me yesterday showed he is the man for us.

I don't think there any managers in the game who would've given a different impression were they in Warnock's shoes.

Some of the reactions on here are crazy!

In my opinion, he is just being very open and honest stating that compared with the events of last week , football matters seem trivial !
He has had personal issues with his wife’s health which have led him to re-evaluate his life and to try to enjoy the manager role more knowing this will most probably be his last as a full time first team manager. I could be wrong but I don’t think he has the same energy or drive left to prove himself again once he is finished here at Cardiff.
Since promotion, I think he has found the transfer market to be tougher, the early window in the summer, the fees wanted by clubs, targets changing their minds at last minute or wanting more than previously requested and then the season itself with the Leicester tragedy ( that clearly affected him) and the frustrations of this season where the team seem to concede soft goals despite going through these situations in training . Also the team have only led for 94 minutes over the whole season which must mean more stress chasing games all the time!
All we can do as fans his get behind the club and do what we are supposed to do SUPPORT !

My thoughts exactly, great post, everyone needs to chill out, we never met sala and look how hard it hit some of us on here, now imagine having a solid all be it brief relationship with him, where he believes in you and agrees to join your club. He takes that leap for you, because of the words you have said. It would shake you to the core and you would have a grief cycle compounded with self blame. People just have to think a bit more before just reacting through emotion

Mehmet spoke to Jim white this morning and said neil has not discussed quitting once in all their conversations since sal disappeared

tomorrow is another day and us humans always bounce back.
to write him off after the first press conference is as mental as it gets.

Great post
I have watched the press conference all the way through and I thought NW was fantastic and handled every question with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I think during the last week Neil Warnock, Ken Choo and Mehmet Dalman have handled this tragedy perfectly and I cannot think of anyone who could have done it better.

The thing is Neil said he had met him several times over the last 6 to 8 weeks to convince him to join us, he said how much Sala was excited to be signing for City, so he got to know him quite well, so it much be incredibly hard for him. I think he is saying what everyone really thinks and that is as much as we don't want relegation, but there's always an opportunity to bounce back there's no opportunity to come back from the dead. I really felt for him yesterday facing the media, and don't forget he's had his worries with Sharon's health problems, I lost my wife 13 years ago so I know how worried he was with Sharon. All we can do is back him 100% and the players and see where it takes us at the end of the season.
If he keeps us up it will be an absolute master stroke, will trump last season by an absolute mile.
Don't think any other manager could do any better

apart from one particularly callous comment from 'wez1927', most people said he may need to step down out of concern for warnock's well-being. pretty much all comments showed empathy for the situation.
i said he needs to decide whether he wants to stay on, and that after all he's done for the club he deserves to choose when he steps down, whenever that is.
