WARNOCK: “ CCFC TRANSFERS “ HAS WARNOCK GIVEN UP?

Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:54 pm

What's the situation with transfers, are you looking for players?

NEIL WARNOCK:

“It's definitely changed our outlook. But it's almost like if we don't sign anybody we don't sign anybody. Life goes on.

"We are looking to improve our squad. We are looking, but I've almost at that feeling now that I'm not too bothered either way.

"I know we want to improve and I know Mehmet and Ken and Vincent are doing their best. We have other targets and we had other targets before. But at the moment, it's not the be-all and end-all. You need to put this to bed really.

"If we get one or two targets in then that'd be great. I know they're working hard. But I don't think my heart's really been in that part of the job."

Sounds like he’s just going through the motions at the moment, a bit concerned with the words he’s used though, his heart or head isn’t in it at all

Agree its very worrying I wouldn't be surprised if he quits ,i love him to bits but if he does want to leave he needs to go sooner rather than later replace him with big sam untill the end of the season

This is worrying. I think he'll slot back in when the time comes , because it's what he does.
The possibility that he doesn't must be covered though, even though we don't want to lose the man who's the essence of our Club and such a fantastic role model for everyone in terms of total commitment.
I always think of him as a veteran Captain or RSM who keeps his head in the face of every disaster and brings the blokes through it somehow, but of course he's not used to actual death as one of those disasters.
Personally, I'd break my heart to see him leave ,and if it came to that he should be appointed Director of Football or something because Cardiff City could never be the same again without him.

Wez, Maybe it’s just pure shock and hurting beyond more than any of us realise and as soon as the Arsenal game starts it might get his mind back in to the game :thumbright: :bluebird:

Look its obvious he is very upset, when you are down everything plays on your mind, come tomorrow when he has the Arsenal game to manage he may feel a little bit better. I do not think that Warnock is the type of man to give up, so i do not think that we should worry about him quiting. Also as he said today Delmet is dealing with any transfers

I think you have the nail on the head, this must be afecting him the most but hopefully the Arsenal game will bring him back to his old self. However i wouldn't be surprised if he walks, i hope he stays :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

It’s not surprising is it. Did you expect him to come dancing and singing into the press conference.
It.s knocked the stuffing out of our club.
The FA never have had any compassion. Man U had to field a team of loanees and players who were not in the Munich air disaster days after for an fa Cup match.
The transfer window should have been pushed back a few days
To Neil it's like losing a son.

Once the whistle goes tomorrow,at least for 90 minutes, his full concentration will be on the game ( hopefully) the same with the players .
We need this game badly and nobody will care about the result.

Re: WARNOCK: “ CCFC TRANSFERS “ HAS WARNOCK GIVEN UP?

Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:26 pm

It was a very very very difficult situation for him to be in. He could hardly go on about other targets and transfers, it would have seemed insensitive.

It's clearly taken its toll on him and tomorrow maybe hard but come the next home game with the city fans behind him and the team he will remember why he loves the game so much.

I think if he is still the same after the bournemouth game we may well be looking at a new manager.

He really looked distressed and if he feels he wants to step down we should wish him well.
He talks about the miracle needed this season, well for me he has completed three.
Keeping us up
Gaining promotion
Setting the club up financially for the next few seasons with the PL money

Exactly this mate, some shocking posts suggesting he leaves  . If he feels he has lost heart and cannot get over his grieve i am sure he will do what is best for both him and the club.

Personally i wont be one calling for his head because he isn't at his best just 7 days after the biggest tragedy in the clubs history.

Be strong Neil, most fans i am sure have your back 100%

Re: WARNOCK: “ CCFC TRANSFERS “ HAS WARNOCK GIVEN UP?

Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:35 pm

NW needs to decide whether he is in the right frame of mind to carry on managing this team.

if he isn't, then i think NW would be the one to say so. he isn't here to pick up a wage, given the money he's made in the game and age.

i've no doubt the squad and staff are feeling a bit down, but lets put this in perspective. kenny dalglish was involved with liverpool when hillsborough happened. 95 fans died in the stadium, and countless others injured and traumatised from what they saw. in our case it is one player he barely knew. dalglish went to multiple funerals, and yet managed them for a further 2 years.

chris coleman (who i have criticised in the past), took over from gary speed, who killed himself whilst in the job. yes it was a difficult situation to step into, but he managed it very professionally. players who knew him as a friend and colleague still carried on playing despite how difficult it would have been.

i've no doubt the club have offered the whole staff and players counselling to deal with it. whatever NW decides to do is fine with me given what he's done for the club. he deserves to pick the time he steps down, whenever that is.

Warnock is a caring manager and this awful tragedy must have left him numb and upset unlike some of you heartless, selfish barstewards on here. I should imagine many of you take longer to get over a family bereavement. Well this is no different Sala was on his way to become part our family. This is still hurting me god help whAt it must be like for his family, friends including Warnock who knew him personally albeit a brief time. :banghead:

He understandably looks a broken man at the moment. Who wouldn't. He also seemed to allude that there were more problems behind the scenes than just the Sala tragedy too. If I am honest I don't think we will make any further signings as the club have just been completely overwhelmed by events. That's not a criticism its just an acceptance of the enormity of what has happened. We'll see how the team performs tomorrow as an indicator of whether Warnock has given up. He's an honourable and loyal man to his players so I don't think he initially will. However, if results are poor in the next couple of weeks I think he will go with the mutual consent of the club.

Well spoken  some fans piss me off,so quick to judge, no offence, but even my wife has been affected like I would nt of thought, considering see deems herself a football widow :| we went and placed a note at the grounds memorial? Did not think it appropriate to use the words rest in peace, so just hoped he was alive, and would be found soon.my point is we all react to these trials in life differently, Neil is obviously feeling it worse than most no doubt :sad7: we need to get behind him and the boys, and let them know we stand together as one big family, and until we know more, maybe sing our support for emiliano and his family, who are going through he'll, not knowing what's become of their boy :sad7: :sad7: :sad7: :bluescarf:

Annis, seeing that interview scares me, it's as if he couldn't care even if we got hammered tomorrow. Time will tell if that's the case, but there lies the problem, TIME, we are running out of it.

Everyone are hurting :( :( :( :( :(

EVERY CARDIFF FAN WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF WARNOCK RETIRES

Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:49 pm

Neil Warnock got interviewed to the local press about the sad situation of Emiliano Sala, and from watching what he has to say he looks like he is on the ropes of whether to continue as Cardiff manager or just simply retire from football altogether. I as well as a lot of Cardiff fans would not be surprised if Warnock retired from football after the Arsenal match, because he's right, there are more important things in life to worry about than managing a team in football.

Either way I feel that this transfer window should just end as it is now because I don't expect anyone at our club and at the end of the day our season is with the same team that got us promoted and with a few additions from the summer 2018. And we have done alright with the team we have now.

I am hoping for an incredible reception as our beloved Bluebirds walk out with the Gunners, and yes it will be emotional but we have to do our best, in the worse situation. To cheer our team onto getting anything from the match. :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Re: WARNOCK: “ CCFC TRANSFERS “ HAS WARNOCK GIVEN UP?

I’m just glad we arent playing against a weaker team tomorrow. We’d expect a hammering off Arsenal regardless of whats happened. We cant afford to drop points against relegation favourites.

Others will be sorting transfers with limited input from NW I believe, he will juts be told "we got xxx" or "we didn't get xxx"
