Best of luck to the kid, could be great for Wales. Hope we had a sell on clause!

The clause we had for selling him was if he played a first team appearance for Man City we’d get around 6m, spoke to him not so long ago and said the moves to Germany could be a good possibility for him

Rabbi Matondo - Good for Wales?

Manchester City youngster Rabbi Matondo looks set to be the latest youngster from a top English academy heading to Germany.

Schalke are closing in on the Wales international after talks with City over a transfer, Sky Sports News understands.

A fee of £11m has reportedly been agreed for the 18-year-old, who was given his first senior cap by Ryan Giggs last November.

Sky in Germany reported over the weekend that Schalke had seen an initial £8.6m offer turned down.

Matondo has not made a first-team appearance for City but has starred for their U23s, with manager boss Pep Guardiola praising the youngster on Monday.

Asked about Schalke, he said: “I heard about that – they are interested in another young player. But I do not know if it’s going to finish.

“I know how good he is. He’s a winger, so fast, incredibly quick and a young talent. That is another thing; how good this club is working."

We should have resigned him? Local boy with great potential, who would benefit from playing regularly, look at Brooks signed for 10m now worth £30m,will probably go to a big 6 club in Summer?

We don’t have 11 million pounds to gamble on potential

I had no idea there were any Rabbis playing professional football. Does he wear a Kippah on the field ?

We’ve gambled a similar amount on Murphy and Reid already and they are not Welsh Internationals?
