"STOKE CITY can confirm that Ibrahim Afellay’s contract with the Club has been terminated by mutual consent.
The former Dutch international had six months to run on his existing contract and is now free to find another club.
Afellay spent three-and-a-half years at the bet365 Stadium, making 55 league and cup appearances and scoring three goals. However, in recent years he has been beset by injury problems.
The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Ibrahim for his efforts and wish him well in the future."

He is or was a very good player.
Not sure how he has gone from winning the champions league Barcelona and playing for Holland at world cup to being released by Stoke in the championship within 3 years.
He may be worth a gamble for 6 months as back up . See if he can regain some of his game at a new club and manager
