Neil Warnocks silence?

Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:14 am

I've heard a little rumour that Neil is thinking of walking away over the Sala situation. Anyone else heard this?

It would be all so easy for someone to walk away, but I believe Neil is a bigger man than that.

I haven't heard this rumour but he has clearly been very upset and shocked by this as his silence is unusual. Almost seems he too upset to talk publicly.

I don't think he would walk away, he is to proud to not something through .

I was thinking last night about his silance though and we have to remember he is an older man and a very passionate person and I could imagine it taking its toll on him.

I hope he doesn't but could understand it, his silence is admirable, he's spent time with the family and done what he can to help without coming out with wild statements. Total gent conducted himself with the utmost dignity, some could learn from his conduct.

I think the club made a decision quite early to keep all those involved on the playing side away from the public eye..do not think any of our players were present during the staff tribute this week.

Saying only yesterday I think this might take a huge toll on him, whatever he does I will understand.

Best wishes Mr. Warnock.

He obviously going to be greatly effective. Saying he’s walking away if he left isn’t the right way to put that suggests he just gave up. It would be for much deeper reasons that he feels he can’t no longer go on in the best interest of all related to the club, if that is the case then that’s the right decision for him and the club.

I personally don’t think this will be the case though.

Warnock has been over to France three times over the last month to see Emiliano and get this deal over the line, therefoe he'll be thinking that he had some involement in this tragedy (although that is not the case) but i can't see him walking away, for me he should use it as a positive and the best response for all concerned whold be to keep us in the premier league this season.

Personally I think Ken Choo is the reason we’ve not heard from NW, he’s kept a media blackout on the squad and they’ve left the club get on with the media

I said on another thread that I believe the club itself (maybe Ken Choo?) are protecting both manager and players as best they can from the current situation

Clearly they are all going to be upset and very emotional none more than the manager himself, who played a very active part in persuading Emiliano Sala to sign for Cardiff City FC

How harrowing must that be?

People, including the OP, should let the club do their work and have a little understanding of how these things work and I feel sure that Neil Warnock will have his say when appropriate; and that clearly isn't now when the full facts still remain incomplete and one of his players is still unaccounted for

I don't think he will walk away this season but I think he will not be here next season. Think this horrific incident will have took his toll on him.
It wouldn't surprise me if we see a director of football coming in till the end of the season to help him cope

Not a great OP, let Neil come out when he is ready.

Some perceptive and intelligent posts there, but my best logic on the matter is that if the manager were effectively incapacitated or threatening to walk, then they'd definitely have asked for the Arsenal game to be postponed.
We love Sir Neil but he's no diplomat and maybe they're just discouraging him from saying stuff which some press dick head will take out of context and try to create a contraversy

I’ve been told through a friend of a friend it has affected Neil quite deeply. Possibly having met him a number of times, and also being the person who first alerted a potential problem when Sala didn’t arrive on time?

If however he feels responsible at persuading Sala to join the club, he has nothing to feel guilty about, he was just persuading a player to join a club. He had no foresight of any potential accident, and no intent to risk the players safety. Hopefully he realises this. A tragic accident and a great loss yes. Responsible in any way, no.

His silence says it all. I think it has hit him really hard. We are all behind you. Keep going not only for Cardiff City but also for Sala and his family.

He’ll want to help the club and the squad get through this, but I do think he’ll go at the end of the season.

Fortunately, Ken Choo has stepped up during this period so NW hasn’t had to make any statements.

He’ll have his press conference tomorrow morning ahead of Arsenal on Tuesday, so I expect we’ll have a few lines from him there.

Last thing we need right now is rumours like this being spread ffs

To be fair, he wouldn't have spoke yet even if nothing had happened. It's just business as usual as blunt as that seems. He can't really say anything that hasn't been said, he probably doesn't want to get involved with the public side of it, though knowing what he's like I'm sure he's very involved behind the scenes trying to do what he can with the situation.

We'll hear from him in the press conference tomorrow.

“Heard a little rumour”. Please entertain us with further details if there is any substance at all in what you’re suggesting

I live and work near Ebbw Vale and Brynmawr where most of the past and present ground men are from. The person who told me is friendly with one of those people. So I've asked the question if anyone else may have heard it too.

Met Neil and his wife this weekend. Saw him this morning in his Cardiff tracksuit, he told me he was off to training today. :bluescarf:

That's the trouble with this board. I hear something. Then come here to see if anyone else heard the same because it's supposed to be the place where people are in the know. Then get accused of shit stirring. Haha.
