Two boats launched in search for Sala and pilot

It’s now being reported in French media a new search has indeed begun.

Ouest France report two boats have been sent out into the English channel.

The news has been confirmed to AFP by Maria José Sottini, friend of Romina Sala, the player’s sister, who said:

“The appeal for funds Friday late afternoon allowed the relatives of Emiliano Sala, via a specialised body to resume research in the English Channel early Saturday morning. Two boats conduct operations.”

La famille d'Emiliano Sala, le footballeur argentin disparu lundi au-dessus de la Manche, a relancé samedi les recherches pour tenter de le retrouver grâce aux fonds récoltés par une cagnotte en ligne, après l'arrêt jeudi des opérations menées par les gardes-côtes.

Cette annonce, faite via la page de la collecte de fonds sur le site gofundme.com, a été confirmée à l'AFP par Maria José Sottini, amie de Romina Sala, la soeur du joueur.
"L'appel de fonds lancé vendredi en fin d'après-midi a permis aux proches d'Emiliano Sala, via un organisme spécialisé, de reprendre les recherches dans la Manche tôt ce samedi matin", indique la page de la collecte. "Deux bateaux mènent les opérations".
La collecte de fonds avait mobilisé plus de 1.940 personnes samedi à 14h45 GMT, réunissant plus de 182.000 euros. Un don de 25.000 euros a notamment été réalisé sous le nom d'Adrien Rabiot, le milieu de terrain du PSG. Au même moment, une pétition demandant la reprise des recherches par les autorités rassemblait plus de 82.000 signatures.
Emiliano Sala et David Ibbotson, le pilote, voyageaient à bord d'un monomoteur Piper PA-46-310P Malibu qui a disparu des radars lundi vers 20H20 GMT, à une vingtaine de kilomètres au nord de l'île de Guernesey.
Le contrôle aérien de l'île voisine de Jersey avait précisé lundi soir que l'avion et ses deux occupants, qui volaient dans un premier temps à 5.000 pieds, avaient demandé à descendre et évoluaient à 2.300 pieds avant d'échapper aux radars.
L'avion amenait Emiliano Sala de Nantes, où il évoluait jusque là, vers Cardiff (pays de Galles), ville de son nouveau club, avec lequel il venait de s'engager.
La police de Guernesey, coordinatrice des opérations de secours, avait annoncé jeudi après midi la fin des recherches, qui ont mobilisé trois avions, cinq hélicoptères, et deux navires de secours.

Messi and kante have been in the news about it to, this fund has only been set up 1 day so early days yet

The down side is it will cost multi millions to search the sea bed fully.
The Malaysian MH370 search cost over £200mill and is still ongoing.

probably a stock photo. i dont think the RNLI are involved in searching now . and have not read who exactly is carrying out the new search..
