Nantes demand Emiliano Sala search continues as family and former team-mates plead with rescue teams

Emiliano Sala's former club Nantes and former team-mates have joined his family in urging the authorities to continue searching for the missing striker and pilot David Ibbotson.

The Argentine had joined Cardiff City from Nantes and was flying to the Welsh capital on Monday night to begin his life in the Premier League.

But the aircraft he was flying in never arrived.

The search for the missing plane, Sala and Ibbotson got underway on Monday night but has found nothing so far.

On Thursday afternoon, the active search was officially called off, with Guernsey harbour master captain David Barker saying: “The chances of survival at this stage are extremely remote."

After news that the search had been brought to a halt, Sala's sister Romina spoke in Cardiff, pleading with the authorities to continue.

She had arrived in Wales to meet with Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock and chief executive Ken Choo.

"I know in my heart Emiliano is still alive somewhere in the Channel Islands," she said.

"My message is do not stop the search. I am grateful for everything that has been done, but I beg that they don't stop with the search, please."

Arsenal fan in peace. I would like to say I am so very sorry to the family & friends off Emiliano Sala and the pilot, the Nantes supporters and all the Bluebird fans, for the terrible tragedy that happened on Monday. We all take life for granted everyday, and we use the word hate so easily, but at the end of the day it's so comforting to see the whole football community coming together in support to the families and friends of these two human beings. None of us really knew Sala, yet we we all feel this deep great loss, which has been felt all across the UK, France and Argentina. Football fans and and non football fans paying tribute to a young man in in the prime of his life, entering a new exciting chapter, to suddenly disappear without trace. I will
still pray for a miracle that both men may still be found alive, and will continue to keep the faith and belief they are somewhere waiting to be rescued. Again I think Cardiff City are an amazing caring, loving club and the club, and its supporters are a tribute to the people of Wales, the premier league and for all decent human beings around the world. Next week's match will not be about 3 points to any Arsenal or Cardiff fans, it will be a chance to reflect and respect and honor Sala, and to offer our compassion to his family, friends and the Cardiff fans.

Heart breaking that search is not being summed up incorrectly and based on a percentage.

Facts & evidence do come first and there are no outlined real facts or evidence that suggest Where If & When the plane went down !!!

I think the problem lies within authorities and who is the funder of the search.

Do Guernsey have enough money in there parts ?

Are the UK basing budget to the percentage ?

Are France doing enough in Nantes and do they have the ability with the problems happening over there at the moment.

A 3 day search with no evidence and just a percentage in my eyes is a ludicrous way of ending a search.

Media haven't helped due to there inconsistency and lack of taste for accuracy !!!

No way should they have stopped searching. We need to keep the pressure on them to carry on.
