Here’s what FC Nantes had to say in a statement yesterday after the search for Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson was called off.
“The search mustn’t stop.
“The club and its supporters strongly ask that the search to find Emiliano Sala continues, for his family and for his near relatives.
“Together, for Emi!”

Nantes demand Emiliano Sala search continues as family and former team-mates plead with rescue teams
Emiliano Sala's former club Nantes and former team-mates have joined his family in urging the authorities to continue searching for the missing striker and pilot David Ibbotson.
The Argentine had joined Cardiff City from Nantes and was flying to the Welsh capital on Monday night to begin his life in the Premier League.
But the aircraft he was flying in never arrived.
The search for the missing plane, Sala and Ibbotson got underway on Monday night but has found nothing so far.
On Thursday afternoon, the active search was officially called off, with Guernsey harbour master captain David Barker saying: “The chances of survival at this stage are extremely remote."
After news that the search had been brought to a halt, Sala's sister Romina spoke in Cardiff, pleading with the authorities to continue.
She had arrived in Wales to meet with Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock and chief executive Ken Choo.

"I know in my heart Emiliano is still alive somewhere in the Channel Islands," she said.
"My message is do not stop the search. I am grateful for everything that has been done, but I beg that they don't stop with the search, please."
