It is with a heavy heart that we report the latest development in the search for Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson.

Harbour Master Captain, David Barker, said: “Despite the best efforts of air and search assets from the Channel Islands, UK and France, which has covered an area of approximately 1,700sq. miles - with a significant amount of this searched more than once - and having examined mobile phone data and satellite imagery, we have been unable to find any trace of the aircraft, the pilot or the passenger." Full statement.

At this time of immeasurable sadness, our thoughts are with the family and friends of both men on board, the fans of both FC Nantes, Cardiff City, and their connections around the world.

Tan Sri Vincent Tan said: “Monday evening’s news shook everyone at Cardiff City FC to the core.

“We were looking forward to providing Emiliano with the next step in his life and career.

“Those who met Emiliano described a good-natured and humble young man who was eager to impress in the Premier League.

“The response from the football community has been truly touching and we place on record our sincere thanks to those who have sent messages of support.

“We also thank everyone involved with the search and rescue operation, and continue to pray for Emiliano, David Ibbotson and their families.”

Vincent Tan has made some horrific mistakes at this club but that is now well and truly in the past. Today I am proud of those who own and run the club. Throughout this tragic affair they have conducted themselves with professionalism and dignity. In the coming days we must mourn Emiliano and then I hope recent events absolutely unite the club for the rest of the season.

Ken Choo and Mehmet Dalman have conducted themselves very well in my opinion and it is clear that whatever has happened in the past. Vincent Tan is a decent man. Choo and Dalman probably more than any others at Cardiff would have had more to do with emiliano with the transfer. This is absolutely unprecedented for anyone to deal with but they have been a credit to us so far.

In my eyes, old may they be :old: he made 1 horrific mistake, which he has since apologised for,and reversed his decision,so the line "he has made some (implying more than the colour change? )horrific mistakes,in my eyes simply isn't true, our club can hold it's head high for their handling of what is,a very very difficult and horrific (correct use of the word imo)situation, the club will unite stronger than they have in any of my many years of following them, whilst the situation is not looking good for them two lost souls, I still hold a glimmer of hope that somehow, they are alive and have just not been found, tiny odds they may be,but for now I'll wait and pray for them :bluebird:

Very proud of our Club and in particular Ken Choo who has acted with compassion and honour. As a side issue I hope that the agents of Emiliano show the same traits and do not pocket their cut from this deal.
