Future Transfers..where do we go from here?

Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:59 am

To stay in the division we need new players brought in. I don’t think anyone will disagree with that

However, at this time will anyone at the club actually want to be discussing any transfers at present??

Would it be improper and insensitive for the club to even consider bringing in another striker with Sala still missing??

Will the FA give us an extension of the transfer window?

Would they allow an extra loan signing?

How would our relegation rivals react if either of the above happened??

Unfortunately the club is in a no win situation whatever it decides

Personally I believe the club will decide they will go with “we will go with what we got attitude “ and not bring anyone else in

It’s a difficult situation that’s for sure

The problem with us being granted an extension is no one else gets one so they would be disadvantaged if we bought a first teamer that can't be replaced.

Personally I think the Premier League should have emergency funds for clubs that face this sort of situation instead of giving Richard Scudamore a big fat bonus for absolutely nothing!

Not sure if I was a Fulham or Burnley fan I would agree with any sort of extension

Unfortunately we will implode now. No ones head will be in the game, our funds for players have gone, we will struggle for goals rest of the season and go down. We have been very unlucky but who cares someone has died we just have to deal with it and build again next season.

I think we'll go with what we've got, i don't see any allowances being made for us

That would never happen but I take your point

Might go the other way an bring the club, players and supporters even closer together to make an even more determined effort to stay in the division

The FA and other clubs might allow an extra UK loan signing, I wouldn’t rule that out

Hopefully fella, such a shame lost a good player and a life couldn’t write this shit.

Not really wanting to discuss this but football and life must go on....

Seeing now as we’re losing a massive chunk of our transfer balance I feel the club need to be looking shorter term and opting for players currently out of contract ie Toure and Rossi, offer them a 6 month pay as you play contract as a starting point, what have we got to lose?

I don’t think we will get any special treatment, but I agree re: Rossi as a short term to help us, however the insensitivity of signing him would be a nightmare for all concerned.

So difficult but we were supposed to be after a defender and a midfielder and hopefully this will pull us all together for the long fight ahead.

We were in for the guy from Leicester weren't we?

But yeah we should try and get some trees in and shore up where we can.

On the contrary, I believe in view of the circumstances there would be very little if any objections from rival clubs if we were given special dispensation to tie up deals after the window closes. From a PR standpoint alone I very much doubt that rival clubs would want to voice their disapproval at such a sad time.

No chance whatsoever, and if we tried other clubs would object.

I don't think our funds have gone the 15 m8llion wouldn't of been paid in full it wpuld of been staggered and would be dependant on other factors

This biggest salute we can give Sala is us all coming together. Club, players, fans and board and realise we are all hurting as one and do what we have to to stay up

Good post agreed, no more infighting.

Who knows what the contractual position is on the payments made and/or due in these circumstances?
Who knows whether there is insurance [life or third party] for this type of situation?

Whether City will or will not lose out on this, the £ position won't be instantly resolved so I assume the club will put this to one side and move on with transfer activity as at the end of the day it is a business and sad and tragic as it is, the business cannot stand still.

It’s difficult to know when to try to get back to “normal “, especially as there has been no closure to the incident because of not even finding any wreckage. Hopefully Dalman and Choo can get back to work with the club soon. I think the financial side of things won’t be a problem in the short term - the main problem is finding a suitable striker replacement when so much time, effort and money went into this deal. There aren’t many options out there.
