Games against the "Big 6" - advantage for us?

Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:41 pm

Games for the teams in the bottom 7 have been very difficult against the top 6 clubs this season. On the positive side, here are the numbers of games left against the big 6 for us and our relegation rivals:-

Cardiff 4

Southampton 4

Newcastle 4

Palace 5

Fulham 5

Huddersfield 6

Burnley 6

With those matches remaining, Huddersfield are in deep do-do!

The problem is that even some of the lesser teams seem to be capable of getting the odd result against the top 6.

Palace won away at Man City

Southampton beat Arsenal.

We haven't ever looked like getting even a point against a top 6 side and I can't see that changing for the rest of the season. In fact it seems as if we have been willing to write off a full 36 available points as there has been no real attempt in any of those games so far (except maybe Arsenal at home) to aim for a positive result.

We really need to be looking at getting some points from our remaining games against the big six and I think our best chance of a point is against Chelsea at home.

Provided Hazard doesn't play :o

I am absolutely dreading the away trip to the Etihad - it could be absolute carnage.
