Wonder what happened there then, bit dissapointed if true, was hoping it was done deal, seems what we need, can only think personal terms weren't right, one way or the other, hope this doesn't develop a trend for us,bid accepted? But can't agree terms with player

Cardiff's £10m move for Nice's Adrien Tameze collapses with manager Neil Warnock forced to explore alternative midfield options in January window
By Simon Jones for MailOnline
Cardiff City's £10million move for Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze has collapsed.
Julien Fournier, Nice's general manager, confirmed the Premier League club pulled out of negotiations on Tuesday night, despite a fee having been agreed earlier at £8million plus £2m in add-ons.
Cardiff were excited at finally getting a quality player in to help their cause but negotiations broke down and Neil Warnock will now have to explore alternatives.
Tameze has made 50 appearances for Nice since making his move there in 2017 from Valenciennes
Meanwhile, Cardiff winger Anthony Pilkington is close to joining Wigan Athletic, pending a medical.
Pilkington, 30, is holding talks with Paul Cook's Championship side after accepting he has no long-term future in South Wales.
Cardiff missed out on signing Nathaniel Clyne last week when the right back opted to choose to go to Bournemouth on loan instead, prompting Warnock to label Liverpool 'a disgrace and a lack of class'

This really isn't good news (regardless of his or his club's reasons) but it doesn't look like City's fault
Now wait for it; the 'negativos' will have a field day here...

Stupid wage demands or he just didn't fancy coming to Cardiff if a fee was already agreed I would have thought.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:22 am
Don't like to say it but I told you so. Save money for the Championship because that is where we will be going if we don't change our wage structure.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 7:35 am
You won't be disappointed if you look ar his stats on whoscored.com one of the lowest rated players in the team this season...
Wed Jan 09, 2019 7:45 am
I think we may be dodging a bullet with this guy.
He was always going to be a gamble anyway.
He was not rated as highly as Seri in that midfield and he flopped at Fulham, the way Nice snapped our hands off for a smallish fee is also a bit of a red flag to me.

You can't yell there not better championship players than this one. Why is it the foreign market is touted as far superior. For every gem like Camarasa there's a Damoure/Big Corn out there.

Apparently wages were also agreed.Just a thought perhaps the deal is off because a better player has become available and we have had a bid accepted for this player! or maybe a greedy agent!
Wed Jan 09, 2019 8:32 am
f*cking typical, what are the odds of us not getting anyone useful in

Let them go into meltdown. It's funnier

Our inability to close a deal is becoming both ridiculous & worrying now! If we're not prepared to meet a players wages then why are we wasting time bidding for them in the first place? It only seems to alert our rivals who come in & either gazump us or agree to pay them!
The business we have done over the last 3 windows(before this 1) has been awful
Tomlin £3m (ish) Warnock's ' my number 1 target' at the time Warnock said has barely featured
Danny Ward £1.6m I like the lad but he can't stay off the treatment table
Madine £6m (hasn't scored in year)
Smithies circa £4m (woeful in his 2 first team games jumping out of the way of the ball on Saturday),
Bobby Reid £10m another of his 'number 1 targets' hasn't shown anywhere near his potential
Cunningham £4 is he better than what we already had ??In my opinion no he seems slow & clumsy
Nearly £30m wasted money, I'd surprised if they have 40 1st team games for City between them
Josh Murphy is good pacey & a lot of potential, Camarasa & Arter have added quality but those 3 are not enough

So you think the players I mentioned are good enough as Warnock doesn't as he's loaned them out or doesn't play them? Who would you have gone with then ?
I think we should have tried the overseas market more as look at Camerasa, Warnock only seems to go for English players
During the window we had Tomlin I would have taken a punt on Tom Lawrence
Last summer Abel Hernandez who had respectable record at Hull roughly 1 goal in 3 game ratio & an established international with Uruguay.
Sam Johnstone or Dean Henderson instead of Smithies or evenTom Heaton after Burnley signed Hart
Joe Allen now as Stoke are in turmoil now so a good time to bid
Alfredo Morelos at Rangers you've got to sign the cream of the crop from Scotland
Why didn't we inquire about loaning Ampadu or Harry Wilson both more than capable of stepping up as seen
Oliver Burke who I think Warnock could have made him a better player was only 18 months ago being called the 'Scottish Gareth Bale'
Anyway there's a few
Warnock has made some good signings in on frees or loans like Hoilet, Bamba, Etheridge, NML, Arter, Camerasa & Paterson which he seems better in that market than paying transfer fees!

Maybe cause we’ve gone all out for the Sala deal.

Occurred to me too...so we'll be back looking for a DM / RB on a free?
The Efe Ambrose rumours have gone quiet, so could be back in the frame, maybe?
Block 111

Plymouth are reported to be interested in Ambrose so not an avenue I think we should consider

Perhaps the player pulled out of the deal. We have no idea as to why the deal is off, so what's the point in speculating. Some fans quick to point the blame at the club every time something like this happens. There are quite a few on here who should consider going into management as they seem to know far more about football then Warnock ever will, and others who should go into club ownership as they are obviously far more astute in football club matters than Tan will ever be.
Not sure why fans are so quick to slate the club at every opportunity and for whatever reason. Best wait until the reason for this becomes known, or there is a danger you could make yourself look a bit stupid if you have criticised someone who did all they could to make this happen. Circumstances change all the time in the transfer window, what's to say an even better player has suddenly made our club his number one interest.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 10:51 am
People are starting to blame the club not because this deal has fallen through,he may be overrated anyway, but because every single deal they have tried to do so far has fallen through. Who else is to blame anyway. Really it would be best if there no rumours until the deal was actually made.Add to that some of Warnocks recent signings have been highly dubious and it's hardly surprising that people are losing confidence in the club.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 4:05 pm
Really hope this is because we got another deal lined up elsewhere otherwise it will be even more embarrassment for Warnock.
I love Warnock but if he has pulled the plug on this deal then he must be confident he got something coming his way because he speaks about difficult it is to convince players and January window and all that and we got this deal 75%-95% over the line. I don't buy the excuses he uses when we miss out on players he never takes responsibility and seems to pin it down to the other team/player and try's to gain sympathy that financially we can't compete, I don't buy it myself.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 5:40 pm
Not sure if it's true but read on twitter that Warnock has spoken about the deal with Tameze and it has collapsed haven't read or seen anything other than something saying 'they got to be better than what we got' so don't know if that's taken from previous interviews where he has said that but if he genuinely pulled a plug on the deal for that reason that he may not be better than what we got then that's alarming because we got people like Damour and Ralls on our books and no disrespect but neither of them are up to scratch for the Premier League and this guy is playing under Viera week in week out under a decent Nice side.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 5:52 pm
Interview on Wales on line with NW stating the club were unhappy with one or two things so decided to pull out of the deal.
Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:02 pm
Agree with most of the above, no better than we already have TBH
Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:01 pm

Bit harsh on Damour, signed on the cheap and has done a decent enough job for us.

Why can’t we go back in for Tolgay Arslan a Time besiktas whobis in his final year of contract? If it’s a midfielder with class and guts surely we should be revisiting this one?
