Just listened to his press conference regarding Real Madrid signing Brahim from Man City, he said if they had a B league more players would stay and more managers would push players through to the 1sts. When asked how he’d like to see it work he said they play week in week out for a title, promotion or relegation, all ages not just U23, they all play, and see how many managers call players through to the 1st team.
Not the 1st time a Premier League B tier has been mentioned and very much doubt it’s the last

They used to do a reserve league.
But then it ruins clubs trying to loan players. You'll end up having teams purchasing players to play for the B team. Just to stop a average team in the same league getting them

isnt that what happens now ? Chelsea had i think 39 players on loan last season , they do not need them and most have no future at that club..anyway FIFA are in the process of bringing sanity back and restricting the amount of players a club can loan out.

Unless he means like the Spanish set up where you have Barca 'B' etc... they can't get promotion but get good game time, don't see where they would fit in the pyramid though as the league's are congested enough

If they had a B league they could play them midweek as not to clash with other league games

They have a B league in Spain for the big clubs who play in the lower leagues.
Example Barcelona B play in Atletico Baleares league, it works well

They get real tough games every week

its been the way in Spain for quite a while but as someone who watched us a lot in the lower leagues im really not sure how I would feel if Liverpool /Man Utd / City etc had B teams parachuted into our division back then..im sure it would benefit the likes of Pep not so sure it would benefit clubs like ourselves having to play against reserve teams , was bad enough being there at all without having your local Liverpool plastics gloating how we are now playing their reserves.

I think Premier League 2 will happen eventually and a 'B League' sounds great
We could use little old Swansea as our 'B League' team

Or they could stop stockpiling all the best youngsters and let them make there own way through the pyramid.
So manybgood youngsters not getting a chance to play.
Maybe a university type system like in America would be better. Everybody can play there then have a trade day where you choose who you want in order like American Football

No way would that work over here with our long history of football.
We’ve got so many teams they wouldn’t fit in to the lower league system. Nobody wants to go to an away game to a B side with no home fans there.
I’m pretty certain 20 years ago Manchester City wouldn’t of been too keen for B teams as they’d probably be losing to them in league one.
They need to realise they can’t just buy everybody with a thimble full of talent hoping they are going to make it. Kids need to play an if they can’t do that at any of the big clubs there are plenty of other places they can.

its an ill thought out remark...as pointed out above how would HIS club have enjoyed that experience and this season Sunderland would be playing Newcastle RESERVES.
