Lee Tomlin opens up on his loan move from Cardiff City to Peterborough United

Tuesday 8th January 2019

LEEE TOMLIN:

“I want to thank everybody at Cardiff City for helping to make this transfer happen. I feel like a kid again, I have got a smile on my face and I cannot wait to get started. It feels like coming home. It is a club that I love and a club that I have wonderful memories of."

“It is not just a sentimental move for me though, I am here to help the club try and get promoted. We have wonderful facilities at the club now, it has come on a lot since I was here the first time so there has been a lot of investment and the players are quality players."

“It has taken a little while to get completed but that is all done now and I can concentrate on playing football. I am looking forward to the challenge. The supporters’ have been really positive on social media and I thank them for that. Now it is down to me to train well and hopefully play some regular first team football, which is what it is all about, playing with a smile on my face.”

Barry Fry thanks Cardiff

Peterborough Director of Football Barry Fry has thanked Cardiff after the two clubs finally got Lee Tomlin’s loan move over the line.

Fry had appealed to Cardiff to finalise the deal last week, with Fry claiming Tomlin would be “heart-broken” if the move fell through.

And now he has offered his thanks to the Bluebirds as the Posh welcome Tomlin back.

"First of all I am delighted to get ‘Tommo’ back home. It has been one of the longest transfer deals ever for various reasons, but I have to take this opportunity to thank our chairman Darragh MacAnthony for backing this project along with his partners. We have had many setbacks but the chairman’s determination has helped it over the line."

"When we got Lee into the football club, the gaffer and I spent two and a half hours with him and his agent. The gaffer took him away to talk football and got his enthusiasm back for the game and I was able to sort a deal. Lee was laughing and joking at the end of the talk and said that was the first time he had done that for about four months."

"Lee just wants to play football and enjoy it again. Last but by no means least, I would like to thank everyone at Cardiff City from Mehmet the chairman, to Ken Choo, Michelle and especially the manager Neil Warnock who have all bent over backwards to get this loan deal over the line."

"I want to wish Cardiff good luck for continued success and I hope Neil achieves another miracle by retaining their Premier League status.'

Yet more bullshit from Tomlin...Said he was thrilled to join the wurzels..over the moon to sign for us etc etc

Can’t believe anything that he says. At least we have got some other mugs to pay some of his wages for a few months

Lee Tomlin says (quote): "The supporters’ have been really positive on social media..."

Well, let's just hope he pulls his finger out and gives them reason to carry on! ;)

Seems there is almost universal relief at Lee Tomlin going from this end but all joking apart, I wish him all the best. He didn't make the grade (for whatever reason) at Cardiff City but we need to remember this is a 'loan' and not a permanent transfer, which means that currently he will be back for pre-season

In the meantime, we can now concentrate on who/what we have at the CCS :ayatollah:
