Late signings may cost us

Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:42 pm

A huge month ahead! Biggest game of the season (so far) on Saturday (could go 11 clear of Huddersfield) and an important game at Newcastle the week after but still no striker in place might.....just might cost us a premier league place next year. !

Why do our board and scouts etc take so long? Other clubs seem to cross the dotted line. Frustrating....

I tend to agree with you. Never mind about haggling, getting a bargain at the end of the window just pay the going rate & get in the players you want. The loans of Arter & Camarasa were late and excellent however they were loans. The main negative was that we lost out on a striker in the summer. We can’t afford to do that this time around. It’s make or break in this window. We need strengthening to give us a chance of staying up.

Frustrating that NW has said that he has lost out on players when waiting for Grujic & then Clyne. Seems no lessons are being learnt. Football is a cut throat business. Get the players in that you want ASAP - could be the difference of staying up or not.

True but then the wrong early singings would cost us a lot more in the long run.

Let's not use this as an excuse, Huddersfield haven't added either as far as I'm aware.

so the lesson of Grujic was go and buy someone not as good as Clyne instead of trusting the boys word who might also pull out on the 11th hour so people can then moan about that..?

Neil Warnock has been In football longer then the vast majority of Citys fanbase has been alive. He knows we need a striker among others. Our job as fans is to back whatever 11 is put out Saturday and until the rest of the season. If we don't sign anyone then that's just how it is
