‘ Sala offer ‘

Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:20 pm

Latest on twitter...

Sala currently earns 45,000 a month and we have offered 200,000 a month.

Sala doesent want to come apparently but one site saying he has turned down the offer and another site saying he doesnt want to go but money can absoloutely change everything...

Is it a matter of more negotiating and offering a better package? Or is he flat out saying no? Who knows but this one goes on...

Surely a 28 year old would jump at the chance of having such an increase in wages, any 28 year old would be daft to quadroupling his salary. Based on them numbers he would go from earning 540,000 a year up to 2,400,000 a year. Who the hell in their right mind would turn down a 1.86 million a year pay rise down????

Somebody who already lives comfortably and isn’t interested in moving himself and his family to another country perhaps

Living comfortabely now yes but football is a short career. A few years of having 2million a year plus in your bank makes the rest of your life hell of a lot more comfortable.

Not sure if i buy that. Scout reports and warnock and the team watching him obviously is the reason hes the number 1 target.

The report says that the increase in wage is the reason he will probably change his mind. I get the feeling he is waiting to see if anyone else will come in. I would be surprised if he turned that down come the end of the window.

To be honest, I would be concerned about bringing in a player that already has one foot out the door before he has even signed. But then to be fair Camarasa didn't seem to want to come originally.

I don't recall camerasa not wanting to come, but agree with you regards him not wanting to come, unless the money is too good to refuse?? Surely the warning bells should be ringing? I would prefer we make offer, give him to the weekend, and if not, move on,we cannot afford to have people here"just for the money"we need players who at least want to be here :banghead:

I am 61 years old and have been following the city since I was 15,and it has always been the same since then. Its always been hard to get players of real quality to come here and City have had to offer that bit more to get them here. And if a quality player ever came it was usually with baggage. The same can be said for managers too.

All that money for kicking a ball about for an hour.... world's gone mad. Most of us wouldn't earn that over 5 years abd thats really working hard

Why does everyone ignore Warnock? He come out and laughed off the rumours he didn't want to come here

Lol - there is not a cat in hells chance that we have offered to pay 200000 per week for a player ( either in sterling or euros ). There is more chance of my hair growing back - and Ive been bald for 40 years!

It's 200,000 pm quoted so 50k a week... still a bit steep I would imagine but you can't get budget wages in this league really have to spend the money and hope it pays off.. 30k pw being saved by Madine going to Sheffield so only 20k pw till the end of season isn't going to break the budget massively

And the saving on Tomlins, lunch bill

Without knowing I doubt posh are paying all of the wages and I'd have guess to and say we are also supplementing Madines salary.

Clearly still a saving of some amount though. £50,000 a week is the going rate in this division anyway but my concern is if he is only coming for the money then it could be £50,000 a week to sit on the bench!!

Posh reportedly paying c.25% of Tomlin's wages

Not known on Madine but the understanding is that more affluent Sheffield United will be paying up to half :thumbright:

I had a good chat with a friend from france. Here are his thoughts...

Emiliano Sala is a very good striker. Not the quickest but can finish well and always at the right position to finish. Would be a excellent signing for us.

Adrien Tameze is average player, nothing special and not a game changer.

Clinton N'Jie is weak... No better than jason puncheon @ palace
