I don't care about us going out of the cup, never nice to lose but it's something we can do without. It's been quite clear since Warnock took over he has no interest in the cups, that probably makes the players think the same.

Warnock is out of his depth in certain areas. Some of the things he says are cringe able and the summer transfers dealings were poor.

However we are still giving it a good go with what we have, he has my backing. Huge game against Huddersfield though.

Reminds me a bit of the Monty Python sketch." What have the Romans (Warnock) ever done for us.

What's the point in having cups if there is 'no interest' in them?

Blame the FA for allowing silly money to ruin the game I’d say

£100m for premiership football means more to chairmen managers etc

It’s a shame but clubs have to run and this is more important to them than cups now

I would say there is a lot of interest in them but you have to prioritise. The money in the premiership it makes little sense to go all out financially. Warnock said himself in previously cup ties he didn't want to get out of bed for it. Hardly surprising the players ain't up for it.

What a pathetic, bitter and twisted this old fucker is!
Doesn’t come on and post after our fantastic wins against Leicester, Southampton or Wolves but waits until now
Never happy until he can moan about something.

Looking at his posts, the whole first page of them is slagging Warnock off on different topics to the exception of one - where he slagged Giggs off.

I am sorry but the amount of money the players and staff are on and you need to 'prioritise' competitions show their not fit for the job in hand.

But why would we be different to any other PL club, or many of those in the Championship. I looked at the teams and players scores in the papers, and most put out what can be described as a development team, or fringe team players with a thin sprinkling of regular starters. Even the crowds who turn up are nowhere near as big as they used to be. Like it or not, this cup is no longer a priority for the bigger clubs, and it's all down to money. Can still be a nice little earner for those in the lower leagues, but I'm afraid the magic has gone out of this competition, and I'm not sure that it will ever return.

It would be tough to get it back and (on the FA Cup) you simply have to blame Sky TV and the Premier League for that. They have forgotten their roots and sold their souls for the golden coin. The problem is whilst that may be the case, we have all fallen under the Premier League vision and that is evident by the threads/post on this very Forum

The days of yesteryear when the FA Cup Final was a whole-day build up to the event are gone and it's almost like they TV companies are pushed to get it in to their schedules

Cup Final 'It's a Knockout' was my favourite! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Mine too. Up early on the morning of the final, and glued to the box all day watching people like Freddie Starr, and games like the one you mentioned, while flicking between BBC and ITV catching the best bits. Gone forever I feel, and even the traditional kick off time has been messed around with. The greed of the PL will probably eventually signal the end of our cup competitions. I could understand why we put out slightly weaker sides when we played in the Welsh Cup, and unfortunately the FA Cup & League Cup seem to be no more important in this modern era, at least not until the late stages of the competition.

surprised how many people still say things like this ..yes there is a fortune being spent on football , including fitness experts dieticians and sports scientists and all sorts of tests to maximise performance and get the most out of players. clubs believe it or not look at the findings and results produced by these experts and act upon them .if this was some sort of new idea conjured up by 1 or 2 excentric foreign managers fair enough but its not. you do not get the best out of players if they play too often

I always watched the BBC coverage of the cup final because of the lack of adverts. One of my favourite parts, was the cameras going to the respective hotels and following the players as they got in the bus and the journey to the stadium. Also, if I remember rightly, the Scottish cup final was on at the same time and the highlights would be shown after. Apart from the home internationals, it was one of the few live games on the tv. I use to look forward to it weeks before as a child and then as an adult, we’d meet-up and go to a different pub each year to watch the game.
