The miserable Cardiff City player ratings as Mendez-Laing ploughs a lone furrow on dreadful day at GillinghamBy Dominic BoothHow the Bluebirds rated on a poor day for Neil Warnock's men in the FA CupCardiff City were dumped out of the FA Cup at the third round stage by League One Gillingham.
Elliott List's winner proved enough for the hosts to pull off an unexpected result at the Priestfild Stadium
Here's how the Bluebirds players rated at Priestfield...ALEX SMITHIES 5Was barely called into action, but found himself picking the ball out of his net after List's finish - which will have left the former QPR keeper disappointed to concede a goal which went into the middle of his net.
LEE PELTIER 5Tried to offer a threat going forward, but Gillingham found some joy attacking down his flank, with right wing-back Luke O'Neill very good for the hosts.
SEAN MORRISON 5Given a pretty tough time by Gillignham's impressive - and physical - striker Tom Eaves. Couldn't make a telling impact when attacking set pieces either.
BRUNO MANGA 6Excellent and untroubled at the back for long periods, but will have been gutted the Cardiff defence allowed List time and space to pick his spot for the winner.
JOE BENNETT 4Squandered a big first half chance to open the scoring and gave away possession too often for his manager's liking. An unwanted poor display with the left-back spot seemingly up for grabs.
JOE RALLS 4Very wasteful on the ball, didn't create much and looks short of confidence at the moment.
LOIC DAMOUR 6Warnock wanted to put the Frenchman in the shop window and Damour did well, though should probably of found the net instead of the post with a big second half chance.
BOBBY DECORDOVA-REID 5There were flickers of his talent in the no.10 role but not enough to impact the game going forward.
STAR MAN - NATHANIEL MENDEZ-LAING 7The best of a bad bunch. His direct running was excellent, but the finish was never quite there, though could have had a goal or two on another day.
KADEEM HARRIS 5A quiet game before going off with injury early in the second half.
CALLUM PATERSON 4Fairly anonymous up front, highlighting further the need for Warnock to sign a striker - and soon - in the transfer window.
SUBSMurphy (for Harris) - Dangerous but wasteful. 6
Ward (for Reid) - A short-lived impact on the game. 6
Hoilett (For Damour) - On too late
Subs not used: B.Murphy, Coxe, Cunningham Humphries.
