Not misquoted at all, he has voiced this statement numerous times!

There must be somebody close to signing as I could not see this move happening without it.

This is how I see it too.

I don’t think he’ll let anyone from the initial 25-man squad go, unless he has signed a replacement for them.

Obviously that doesn’t apply to the likes of Damour, Pilkington, Tomlin etc.
