i did say the other day on the forum it would typical if we are not quick our rivals will be snapping up players we earmarked "cahill" chelsea to fulham, "niasse" everton to palace "clyne" liverpool to bournmouth.

It's not a case of being quick off the mark players need to want to go to city? Clyne for instance would see Bournemouth a far better move than us so that's why he's gone there...

Exactly, there’s more to it than ordering something off Amazon.

You don’t really think we are in for Gary Cahill?

At the end of the day the players have to agree to the move, being "quick" has nothing to do with it.
We're on the 4th day of the month and people are bitching already

Deals make deals.
As I said in the other thread Rangers don't pay big wages but to get Defoe they have probably agreed to cover his £65k a week and Bournemouth wave a loan fee so Rangers getting Defoe for £1.5 million and Bournemouth have £65k a week off the wage bill that they can put to someone else. So if Clyne is on reportedly 70k a week at Liverpool Bournemouth can pay the bulk of that whereas I doubt we would even be offering to pay half.
The brutal truth is we will get trumped and just can't compete.

Well unless we have a striker lined up niasse was mentioned as a possible loan striker well palace have offered to buy so they will take him, cahill was mentioned on the forum thats all as a poss, and clyne was a favotite because he had worked with neil before and we need a right back, jesus i know we are not ordering from amazon but if you are to slow you loose your man these are just 2 examples of 2 players we have earmarked by people not only on the forum but neil himself and as you say its only day 4 of the transfer market but they have gone already have 'nt they?

Wasn't aware Clyne had gone to Bournmouth! I am still hoping that this City interest leads to a signing.

He hasn't yet, but I would be surprised if he chose to come here over them, Warnock could be the trump card and it depends how Liverpool want to play it over the money but ultimately if Bournemouth offer to cover his wages you would have to think its game over as unless our stance changes we wouldn't be able to compete.

You're spot on, Paul
I know how it can appear sometimes; City have a habit of leaving it 'late' to make 'unforseen' signings but I think it would be disingenuous for anyone to suggest that the club aren't working hard to get the players they really want; but as you say, those same players will be good enough that others may want them too!
Patience is the order of the day and that is something that is missing by many on here!

i think some of us cardiff fans have more patience than the n.h.s. a lot of fans think that the guy from nantes is to exspensive and niasse was more in our price range including neil why on earth don' t we pay the price sign deal done ,or you saying palace and bournmouth etc are better prospects than cardiff if thats the case we will never attract anyone apart from lower divisions players my urgency was that we are short in some departments as nearly everybody recognises and its the games coming up next week and throughout january that are more winnable so it makes more sense to me to have players beded in now rather than the middle of febuary i could be completly wrong in my thinking and it was only my opinion not everbodys veiw
