Bit like Scotland, play home and away twice, as most of the bottom 8/9 clubs have little chance of getting a result against the top 6 anyway, just look at the results this season, the spending power they have is too great, just look at Chelskie today they pay 59 million on a player out of contract next season at Dortmund then loan him back till end of season!!!

Completely disagree, but each to their own.

I can see it going down to 18 clubs but not 12

Ridiculous

I’ve heard that they are dropping it to 18, dropping the Championship down to 18, rebranding it to Premier League 1 and Premier League 2, then changing league 1 and 2 into League 1,2 and 3 promoting a few new teams up from the National League

I really don't like it, but objectively perhaps the Premiership and Championship should be split into three smaller divisions with only one team being promoted to the top level each year, and only then after playing the bottom team over two legs.
I say this because it seems that they're prepared to allow rich clubs to buy football. That will kill it off in the end of course because it will eventually become a rich persons sport like lawn tennis or show jumping. It won't be long before people won't bother to support anyone out of the top six or so clubs and there'll be no point in British kids aspiring to become professionals.
This is the certain outcome of the short term greed being indulged in by the footballing authorities and it's just a matter of time before it gets to that.
It is easily possible to avoid that of course, by introducing spending limits for all clubs, as they did to save American Football some years back. Frankly I doubt that they'll do that though .

been advocating for a long time a European league should be set up with the top 4 from the prem in the mix with the top sides around europe
they,ve been european cup competitions for years why not a league too ? for me just natural progression

Look at rugby in Wales. They are obsessed with making the top league smaller domestically. And domestically it has helped kill the game off. Clubs need a good number of games to make things interesting and have plenty of home games for match day revenue and TV revenue

Easy fix, do what the NFL do, and have spending cap. Make for a much better league, and the top talent would still come as the PL pays streets more in wages than all but China..
