“ Grabban £9mill “

Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:13 am

Talk amongst Nottingham forest fans is that we’re signing him for £9m.

Has played and failed at this level twice so I’m not quite sure what the thinking behind this would be, almost as if Warnock wants to top Gary madine as a waste of money

My first thought is I agree with what you say, that he hasn’t done well in this league before. Also remember how he messed us about a year ago and signed for Villa at the last minute.

But would he be an improvement on our current strikers? Of course he would.

Need to be realistic with potential signings and Grabban falls into that category - he’s a goalscorer and things could be different at this level with a different club.

A very hardworking player too, which would fit in with the current squad.

I could understand this signing and be reasonably happy with it - if true.

He’s messed us about twice if i recall, we ended signing le fondre instead the first time. Just have a bad feeling about this if it’s true

£2mill yeah but £9mill do me a favour. If this happens Warnock is desperate.

Forest bought him for £6m in the summer so it would have to be at least that

9m for a 30 year old, we must be on target no13 :-)

No thanks.

Unless we are getting lolley as well for this price, this smacks of desperation.
And 31 in a few weeks , really not happy with this signing , somebody say it’s a windup.

24 career games played in PL , 1 goal

Agree.

Re: Grabban

I'd be gutted if this is the man we turn to. If reports are to be believed (which they probably shouldn't), everything was agreed and he used us to angle a better move elsewhere. As mentioned above, turning 31 on 12 Jan and never had a good spell in the Prem.

There's better and younger for £9m.

Where?

£3 million and Madine would be a good deal

Re: Grabban

I've repeatedly suggested this . He'd fit style of play and hits the target

although the stat is correct ,most of those apps were as sub.
it really hasn't worked out for him at Bournemouth but that might be a style of play thing..?
9mill does sound a lot though..

Where?

Scottish / on the continent. Much rather take a young hungry one there than Grabban, Honestly believe that a right back is a much higher priority than a Striker myself.

Not sure we will get anything for 9 million. If we could we would.

Madine was 6 million.

If the best we can do striker-wise is Grabban then i'd rather sort the defence out properly instead.

Didn't like his attitude on the Sunderland documentary. Clearly didn't enjoy playing in a struggling side.

No thank you.

Hes better than what weve got upfront

Re: “ Grabban £9mill “

Wed Jan 02, 2019 12:33 pm

Personally I would rather pay £250-300,000 per month for a loan signing

Possibly even 2

£500,000 per month. 6 months. £3m

Chance for 2 overseas players to put themselves in the premier league window - so they will be looking to prove themselves

We get two quality players without the comittment

And can regroup in summer. If we are still in Premier league then we can buy with a bigger budget. If we are in championship well that’s £6m saved

Not worth the money but NW got to do something with only 29 days to do it in!

To old to be wasting £9 on and Patterson is a better option up front than him anyway.

Re: “ Grabban £9mill “

Surely someones on a wind up and having a good laugh.
As stated woukd rather stick with what we have got than waste 9 million on a 31 year old with no record of scoring in the premier league and no resale value.
Surely there must be loans out there which would give us a better chance?
According to sports lens we have agreed a fee for sala as well.
