WAY TO MUCH RESPECT & EVEN LOOKED SCARED OF THE SPURS PLAYERS
The match dead and buried first-half.
Over all 73/27 possession to Spurs
My strong opinion
“We just cant handle any of the big boys, we just can’t even compete with the big name clubs”
But don't we worry have a mini league which we compete very well in

Cardiff City 3 Spurs 0
h/t 0-3

Cardiff CIty: Etheridge; Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Cunningham, Gunnarsson, Arter, Camarasa; Reid, Murphy, Paterson.
Subs: Smithies, Peltier, Bennett, Ralls, Mendez-Laing, Hoilett, Madine
Cardiff couldn’t get near Tottenham in the first 45 mins. We gave Spurs too much time on the ball, poor defending for the goals. Cardiff were Deservedly losing 3-0

Spurs conserved their energy in the 2nd half knowing the job was done by half time. Cardiff offered a little bit more in the second half than they did in the first 45 mins but the threat of a goal was always minimal. Disappointing performance, particularly the errors that led to Spurs goals.

That's absolutely right, but for what it's worth we played a very strange formation and it didn't work.
Whilst I hesitate to mention it I had the impression when they were in the tunnel at the start that there'd been a row in the dressing room or something .

Absolute replica performance to the Man Utd game. We handed it on a plate for them by conceding an utterly pathetic opening goal after just two minutes. Being philosophical its been a good Christmas overall but the performances against Man Utd and Spurs have not been acceptable. We have to improve the back four and I am afraid Morrison needs to be singled out. Lots to do before the Huddersfield game which surely has to be one of the most important games of the season.

Annis, that post pretty much sums it up!
Day off (v Gillingham) for some players next week and back to the important mini league (Huddersfield) the week after

The game was lost after 15 minutes so why doesn't Warnock try something different. Paterson is not a center forward - despite the fact that he has caused a few problems for some defenses this year. Today, he was all over the place. Meanwhile, sat on the bench is a bloke who was bought last January to solve our scoring problems (Madine). He needs first team playing time & today he could have got a decent run out in the 2nd half.

I agree it was a perfect opportunity to give Patterson a rest and give Madine a chance for 45mins

Spurs just had to turn up by the look of things. They looked as surprised by the first 2 goals as we the fans did. Very poor performance. I'd expect at least to stay organised but they looked clueless.

These are the games that we don’t expect to win however I said exactly the same thing during the game, we give these so called ‘bigger clubs” 2much respect. Need to get closer to them, close them down & make it as difficult as possible. Yes Spurs are a class team however we seemed to make them look better.

we've now played 3 games in a week, with virtually an unchanged side throughout. given that we have averaged 33% possession in our last 6 games now, that's a hell of a lot of running. it was a monumental effort to get 4 points away, and clearly the players were shattered today.

Becoming a little pissed off with these capitulations against the established big guns.
Ok - i know we're limited in terms of our quality and class but surely we can get in their faces from the start, show no respect and show some bloody belief!
The defending was awful, almost schoolboy stuff - all 3 pretty soft goals.
What on earth was the formation about today!?? Paterson at full back much of the time, Morrison venturing into midfield on occasion (which from memory cost us the 2nd or 3rd goal), Reid completely isolated!
Just bloody play to our strengths with the formation and why can't we be more positive against these teams - you never know Neil, the 30k turning up to watch City against the big 6 might believe we can get something from these matches (which could prove crucial) even if you don't believe we can!
We're sadly predictable against these teams in our perceived approach and that's not something I'm keen to keep watching through the pain barrier.
2nd half once Paters was back up front and when Rallsy came on i felt we showed more guile and urgency but by then the game was over unfortunately.

The game was over as soon as that ridiculous first goal went in. Less than three minutes gone. After that, Tottenham hardly broke sweat. If we're going to have a chance of staying up, we need to get the occasional point from top ten sides. Others in our 'mini league' will. It's not beyond us, but most sides in the PL would have beaten us tonight. 'Too much respect' is spot on!

If that was a boxing match, it would have been stopped when Erikson's goal went in.

Have not watched the match on sky only at the game, what was your suspicion?

its a pretty horrible division for all the lower clubs not just ourselves and easy after a game like last nights to feel as you did..

Strange setup and tactics cost us the first half plus our two centre halves were exposed as out of their depth against the big clubs as they have been all season. All Spurs had to do was knock over the top for their midfield to run on to and cross it into the box, Looked like Patterson was told to play wing back and Cunningham told to man mark which proved to be big mistakes. I've never known the Ninian Stand to be so quiet when we were 0-3 down, hats off to the Canton for singing for the last 20 mins.
