MY VIEW “ CARDIFF CITY TODAY SHOWED LITTLE FIGHT & WERE AWFUL & GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED “

City showed no fight in the first half and went in 3-0 down after 45 minutes.

Second half and Spurs continued to dominate but didn’t need to get out of second gear.

Neil Warnock named a strong team, with Bobby Decordova-Reid coming in for Junior Hoilett in the only change from Saturday’s win at Leicester.

Etheridge, Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Cunningham, Gunnarsson, Arter, Camarasa, Murphy, Decordova-Reid, Paterson

GOAL: CARDIFF 0-1 SPURS - City started slowly and poor defending led to Harry Kane bundling in to give Spurs the lead after 3 minutes.

12th minute - Greg Cunningham’s shot from distance comfortably saved by Hugo Lloris.

GOAL: CARDIFF 0-2 SPURS - Eriksen doubles Spurs’ lead from just inside the penalty area in the 12th minute.

GOAL: CARDIFF 0-2 SPURS - Son Heung-Min gets a third for Spurs. City being outplayed at this point.

42nd minute - Sol Bamba nearly gets a chance from an Aron Gunnarsson long throw but is deemed to be offside.

HALF TIME: CARDIFF CITY 0-3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

46th minute - Junior Hoilett replaced Josh Murphy at half time.

52nd minute - Hoilett’s header saved by Lloris.

53rd minute - Sol Bamba booked for a challenge on Son.

59th minute - Joe Ralls replaced an injured Victor Camarasa.

71st minute - Hoilett’s mishit cross tipped over the bar by Lloris.

72nd minute - Nathaniel Mendez-Laing replaces Decordova-Reid.

72nd minute - Gunnarsson’s close range header saved by Lloris.

91st minute - Sean Morrison headed wide.

92nd minute - Hoilett’s shot saved by Lloris, but he was offside anyway.

FULL TIME: CARDIFF CITY 0-3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

My MOTM was Harry Arter

Next up Gillingham away in the FA Cup on Saturday :thumbright:

Awful performance. Despite our heroics this season it's concerning the number of games we have just waved the white flag from the kick off. Without any shadow of doubt we need additions ideally before Huddersfield.

One to forget.

i would put out a second stream team against Gillingham Saturday and rest our main players. 2 very important games coming up where we need to avoid a lose.

Absolutely agree, Gillingham is of no importance , this season is about finishing 4th from bottom.

Some very disappointing performances today, including the selection of Pats on the wing.
Thought Josh gave Cunningham no protection whatsover.

We are in a War Of Survival and we have 38 battles to fight in this War and sometimes the battles are losing ones, but you don't need to win every battle to survive you just need to pick the battles where you have a realistic chance of winning. In my opinion tonight was a battle where we really didn't have a realistic chance of winning.

Our next home game is a battle where we have a realistic chance of winning and we really need to do just that.

Survival will be all about picking the right battles and I believe NW will do just that.

I can understand the gulf in quality but that was a lack in effort- buck stops with Warnock

I take it that Morrison is a Spurs fan. How else can he explain away that defensive performance. :banghead:

we were outplayed from start to finish - we didn't get near to them today. there was a huge gulf in class.

the way there was a lack of any closing down and battle in midfield suggests the players are very tired. it's a big ask to expect the same players to keep performing above their natural level as they have in recent games.

disappointing after such good away performances against palace and leicester, but spurs are a quality team, and there are always going to be games like this at a team like ours.
