Tammy Abraham?

Villa mate of mine saying hes leaving them coming to us

Re: Abraham ?

Be delighted if true Wez. Looks like he has added more to his game this season with Villa. Him on a perm, plus Clyne on loan and a midfield dog should be enough to keep us up.

I've heard that, Wez but not clarified by anyone this end yet...

Interestingly though, a reverse 'whisper' gives Kadeem Harris going the other way with only Namenja Radoja (Celtic Vigo midfielder) higher up the list of possibilities...even than former Bluebird James Collins who they want but who is waiting on his injury before any decision is made!

Time will tell but hopefully going to be a more interesting January that many think! :ayatollah:

As I said in another post, that 3-2 loss by Villa against Leeds could have worked in our favour. In their forum at the time fans were questioning whether i he would be laving. They are still off the Championship pace and we are out of the bottom 3. I am hopeful  :bluebird:

Warnock has made no secret that he wanted him in the summer i think it could be on a permanent deal

Wez, that would help massively and free up (maybe) a deal for Clyne or A N Other :thumbright:

I agree with the poster (above) who suggests that Villa's mid-table position might be an influencing factor, although it is, of course, Chelsea's decision to recall him (maybe with Villa's discreet blessing) ;)

Is this a loan or to buy? How much you reckon he would cost?

Villa are 9th and just 5 points off the play offs, remember Fulham. Still early days for a promotion push

I'm not convinced either that it's likely or that it'd be beneficial.
I'm only half joking when I say that the silly haircut is a factor because I've noticed that players who go in for that sort of thing tend to be inconsistent primadonnas - "look at ME!!!" isnt the best frame of mind for our kind of football and team spirit, and I'd prefer a player to express his individuality with his football when that's what he's getting so much money to do.

Half the teams in the premier league seem to want him, including Wolves, which is a club more aligned to his apparent mindset.

He's been at that horrible club on loan , and one thing I always notice when I watch them is that they appear to have no esprit de corps whatever - constantly bickering with each other and complaining about passes and so on. I wonder whether that's rubbed off, because just a little bit of that attitude can soon infect a unit and develop cliques.

As we all know, the ultimate test of any footballer is to watch a three minute compilation on YouTube. Well, I've conducted this due diligence on behalf of the club , ( fee note to follow), and it reminded me of something Sir Neil keeps asking, " Is he any better than what we've got ?" Can't say I'm convinced that he is.

In short, I doubt whether it's worth expending a big fee on him because if and when we do that ,( which I think that we probably must in the window ), we really need to feel very confident that we're getting someone who can and will be able and willing to do what's needed and will be fully committed to the job.

I know; I was only jesting :thumbright:

We know from last season that they can put an impressive run together at any time. They have the players to do that, including Jack Squealish (is he back yet?)

My concern for Villa is that they have a few ageing players now and that may soon include James Collins :ayatollah:

Back to Chelsea and then out on loan to a premiership club.
4 or more clubs interested in him. Not a player I fancy at all but he could work for us I guess.

He can certainly hold the ball up and bring other players into play, i think he would do really well in our team, especially if paterson was playing the number 10 role

Yeah, I agree he could but if it did happen I would prefer someone more mobile and pacy in behind him as a no10 like Reid or Murphy even.

Surely it will only be on loan if it all, Bayern Munich bid 20 m for odi and chelsea want 40m!

Silly haircut? :laughing6: Remember Beckham :laughing6:

Re: Tammy Abraham?

Is it me or are we edging our bets? Most players we are linked too are limited in premier league, but can do excellent job in championship! So fresh blood will hopefully keep us up but if relegated will have a very good championship team easily capable of going strait back up! :old:

I'd rather Clyne as our loan.

I agree.

if i was abraham, i'd see out the season with villa and try and move away permanently to a club where he will play, championship or premier league.

i agree with SirJimmySchoular. i don't think he is any better than what we have here. like patrick bamford, he seems to be one of those players that everyone is chasing, but no-one seems to know why, other than they've heard he's a decent player. no doubt he'll end up on loan to crystal palace, do nothing, and then repeat this in the summer.

Laughable, isn't it!

He's way better than any striker or makeshift striker we have.

Re: Tammy Abraham?

Tue Jan 01, 2019 4:08 pm

He is definitely better than what we have got because our first choice striker is a semi permanent sick note, our second choice striker is a permanent sick note and our third choice striker is deemed to be so bad he is unplayable. Our actual striker is a right back who is probably better than the other three.Abraham is on target to score about 30 plus goals for Villa this season how can he be no better than what we have got?

I Assume if we were actually willing to pay 15 million for Sala we would fork out the same for Abraham personally I would actually prefer Abraham than Sala, much younger too.
