They reckon 120,000 watched the London fireworks. Food, Drink, transport, restaurants, bars, hotels, brings increased earnings, wages, and taxes for the Govt. Also ticket sales were £1m.

All ticket sales go towards funding the fireworks. Khan has said he put aside £2.3mill for the display alone. How much did it cost to police the event ?
Its a joke the way this country wastes money then moans we have none to help our own people who need it.
Ticket sale money alone should be enough for the display no need to spend millions more to try and better other countrys

Not on this occasion (look properly at how funded) and I think 120k people watching on the ground and millions more on TV would beg to differ![]()
Much more money is 'wasted' elsewhere and on dafter things (a whole new and lengthy thread) and giving the people a celebratory display on New Year's eve might just have given millions the 'feel good' factor...just like the Madness concert on TV either side of it!
