NEIL WARNOCK: "CARDIFF CITY'S BUDGET & WHAT HE WANTS"

Neil Warnock in yesterdays interview on 5live.

Warnock was praised :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Then Neil Warnock stated very clearly:

"Our budget is not only the lowest in the Premier League, the nearest to our budget is double ours"

For me what ever happens come May 2019, Warnock must remain at our club for next season as I believe we would struggle beyond if he left, not many managers would of not just got us promoted on last seasons budget, but then kept us out of the bottom three come 2019.

Neil Warnock has united our club, brought the feel good factor back which had been destroyed for about 7 years and even when we lose ,the majority of our fans don't feel so down as they know our team has given everything. :bluebird:

Neil Warnock has virtually cleared our debts, through last seasons promotion, guaranteed £millions coming in for the next 4 years and has virtually doubled our home and away crowds, to sell outs :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Merchandise sales are up, match ticket sales are up, sponsorship is up etc etc :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Warnock also stated he wants three new players come this January, I really hope Tan backs Warnock fully and backs Warnocks judgement with the money Warnock wants.

Warnock has also stated he wants to sign Victor Camarasa permanently and for me, Warnock should be fully backed to buy Camerasa :thumbright: :bluebird:

Warnock: A great result for the players & fans!

Neil Warnock spoke at King Power Stadium after the Bluebirds secured a dramatic away victory in their final match of 2018.

Shortly after the jubilant celebrations at the final whistle, the City boss said his side were good value for their first Premier League win on the road in 2018/19.

“I’m proud of the lads today,” began Neil. “I thought we played some good stuff and deserved it.

“We got the late goal, but I felt we shaded it, and if we were a little bit more clinical in the final third we could have put it to bed.

“All credit to the boys, it took a penalty save to keep us in the game. I thought it was a very iffy penalty… Some would give it and some wouldn’t. But I thought the right result came about in the end.

“It’s a great result for us - not just for the players, but for the fans. We’ve had some great backing this year, and for them to go home happy down the motorway means an awful lot for us.”

Neil went on to explain how much his City side have improved, as we pass the halfway point in the Premier League campaign currently four points outside of the relegation zone.

“I can’t tell you how much we’ve improved since August and September,” he said. “And I think we can get better now, especially with one or two additions in January.

“I think we can give everybody a run for their money. We’ve got great spirit and we can play a bit - people forget that!”

"I just need three players to add to this team come January and then I will be happy"

Finally, the Gaffer commented on the match-winner, Víctor Camarasa, whose sensational strike sealed the points at the death.

“Víctor needed to come to a Club like ours,” said Neil. “He needed to be loved and welcomed, and he’s such a super boy.

“He does that regularly, but his free-kick was poor today and he shot into the stands just before. I keep telling him: ‘Keep shooting - I’ll never shout at you!'

"That’s because he’s capable of doing that.”

It was always clear our budget would be (politely) "limited" but I think most of us accepted that at the start of a season where we knew we might be punching above our weight

What has happened since is pretty much incredulous; Cardiff City FC in the Premier League on a shoe-string budget and holding their own to date...

The guiding light for this incredible journey to date has been one Neil Warnock, Esq. (MBE or not) and his contribution to the club at all levels cannot/should not be underestimated :notworthy:

Let's not forget the part others have played in this fantastic journey to date and by that I mean everyone from the owner, the rest of the Board, the coaches, other club staff and, of course, the supporters!

As it stands, we need help for the second half of the season in the form of some fresh legs in known positions to keep the momentum going and this is where the hierarchy (specifically Vincent Tan) needs to support the manager; even if it means going a little (not a lot) outside the parameters of what has previously been set

Few of us expected to be in this creditable position as the season started (and probably not after the first 8 games) but we are and the club need to adjust their thinking to reflect that they actually have a genuine fighters chance of staying here for next season

Give the man what he wants; no one will be more careful on what he spends than our thrifty Yorkshireman! ;) :laughing6:

Well said Chris, Warnock should be fully backed :thumbright: :bluebird:

And yes without doubt Warnock has united our fans and they have backed him in return :ayatollah: :ayatollah: plus his backroom staff and players all totally deserve an applause :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

"Our budget is not only the lowest in the Premier League, the nearest to our budget is double ours"

I know Warnock likes to play us down but I'm not sure that is correct. We spent what 30m and he said he still had anothrt 10m which he didn't spent so that made the budget 40m, I'm. Pretty sure every clubs didn't sort 80m

Infact didn't spurs not make a single transfer over the summer?

Luke, I actually believe him and don’t doubt him, but what I think Warnock is playing at, is reminding the board to back him when he needs it :thumbright: :bluebird:

The club have an incredible chance to stay in the PL with a few additions which need to be quality signings.
Im sure this gamble will pay off with another season in the PL and a chance to put the club on a footing we could have only dreamed about in the last 10 years.

The problem is what do you call backing the Manager ?

£10mill? £20mill? £50mill? £100mill

Other clubs have done that this season and are below us. Is giving Warnock £60mill to spend to bring us up to the level of other promoted clubs going to guarantee us survival?

If i was Vincent Tan i would give him what we can afford without risking the financial future of the club. £20mill and a few foreign loans should be more than enough. 2x £10mill players should give us the quality we need if spent correctly

Still being linked with Glen Kamara, not sure what he will cost.

As I’ve said before according to transfermarkt and others we were 14th highest NET spenders in the Summer, above Spurs and Man City and joint fifth in Championship last season and yet people still say Tan is not backing club? Don’t listen to Neil on spending, it suits him to always be the underdog. I’m sure Tan like us wants to stay in the Premier League and will back Neil with sensible purchases, but the main thing is to buy/loan players than fit our style and are definitely up to Premier League Football like our two Summer loans!

Annis, if we stay up, I fully expect Warnock to retire on a high. Perfect way to end his legacy. I just can’t see him managing us for a 2nd year in this league, and if that is going to be the case, I hope he makes the big bosses aware early on so that we can start planning properly.

I dont think he would retire or even move upstairs, its in his blood and cant see him giving up anytime soon

Playing it down guys. He's not going to say "I've got the amount I want". When he's currently trying to do deals and playing it down to the clubs.

And so they should start backing him now.

That's so true as I missed 5 seasons because of the rebrand but I couldn't think of anyone else I'd want at the club other than the people there now.
Absolutely the best time to be supporting the club in the last 50 years

in fairness to warnock, he's not just kept us in touch, in fact we now have a small cushion from the relegation zone, and importantly, we are improving with each game, not just limping along hopelessly as the likes of burnley and huddersfield are.

it is absolutely essential he is backed with some funds to sign the players we desperately need, and the least he deserves after where he has taken the club. we have a good spine in the team, and a couple of first team additions, and a squad player to put pressure on the centre midfielders, would give us a good chance of avoiding the drop.

When he says budget he includes wages which restricts the type of player we can attract

Just to clarify Neil was talking about wage bill not transfer fees, interviewed by the excellent Pat Murphy on 5live.

OK that makes sense the article is more than misleading.

Great news that we aren't paying stupid wages and stands to reason as a newly promoted club that wages would be down compared to others.
