VICTOR CAMARASA: TOTTENHAM AND WEST HAM MISSED OUT

Victor Camarasa shows what Tottenham and West Ham missed in January 2018
By Sam Leveridge

Sunday 30th December 2018

Cardiff City were left in awe of their winning goal on Saturday as Victor Camarasa sent a rocket beyond Kasper Schmeichel, but it could have been very different for the Real Betis loanee had he moved last January.

ABC de Sevilla claimed that both Tottenham and West Ham were monitoring the Spaniard in the last winter transfer window and considered a move for the midfielder, though it never became reality and he joined newly promoted Cardiff on loan in the summer.

The 24-year-old has impressed in Wales but has proven his point with this latest strike as he aims to help keep Neil Warnock’s side up in their fight for Premier League survival.

As Tottenham floundered against Wolves at the same time, with a lack of depth in midfield highlighted more than ever before, Camarasa’s offer for the north London club was clear to envisage.

West Ham too have been lacking in the middle of the park when they have struggled this season, which could reflect the way that they may have benefited from the arrival of Camarasa.

What will be truly intriguing will be to see if either club returns for Camarasa in the summer when his loan at Cardiff comes to an end and he may well look to upgrade.

I really hope we sign him permanently and have something in place but I think it was just a season long loan

Probably. Yet if you do that sort of thing with your ex wife they call it stalking.

If the reports are true we will not be signing him permanently because betis will want more than city can afford also if club like spurs come calling we won't be able to compete on wages either! So won't hold breath about him for next season
